@howdyrat
I donāt have any screenshots, but YAāLL I NOTICED SOMETHING
When Chris was talking to Martin in Zoboomafoo (Happy Lemur Day), he called him ābrother of mineā/ābrother oā mineā and I was like awww I havenāt heard them call each other that before! And then I watched WK Choose Your Swordfish and I- OUGHHH one of them said ābrother of mineā again!! I just about screamed, oh the feelssss!!
Unpopular opinion, I really like Rodās character. Like, his behaviour sucks and heās annoying but thatās the point?
The whole schtick of these teenagers is that they DO have to worry about the wellbeing of an entire city, and the fate of the world. Thatās a lot of adults theyāre being responsible for so it doesnāt strike me as that unusual that Mikey would want to stand by Rod and keep trying to be a positive influence in the hopes that Rod might shape up.
Imagine hearing all day all the time that everyone hates who you are. Why would you try to be better for people who think youāre a hopeless cause? And what happens if you put a character (Mikey) into the mix who doesnāt hate you? Who thinks you could be a better person with the right support?
A lot of the adults in this series strike me as malicious or just plain incompetent, and I think itās writing thatās meant to be provocative, like thereās this underlying feeling that the turtles are still isolated in these dangerous situations where they feel like they have to step up because nobody else can or will, and if I was a writer on the show, Iād be wanting people to watch it and say, āisnāt that a little messed up? That these kids have to step into roles that should be dealt with by older people?ā
Yeah, it is.
Rodās a good character cos he makes Mikey look like a saint and really drives home how selfless he is, and you end up wanting him to be a better friend to Mikey.
Itās all āNobody is beyond redemptionā until you see a character who is obnoxious and irritating.
(And who tried to have them kidnapped for their blood but even that only served to highlight his incompetence)
MIKEY ASK GAME 4 AND 5
Five was a popular one! I answered it here:
Mikey Question 5
4. what headcanons do you have?
Oh, I have SO MANY headcanons. Lemme see. I'm sure I'll miss some of them butā¦
ALL MIKEYS
Mikeyās fear of monsters is from the type of lives they lead. In his mind, creatures that creep from closets or out of outer space aren't exactly out of the realm of possibility here!
Mikey fears the dark because he knows exactly how to become one with the dark so who knows what's hiding in it?
Outside of his nunchaku, Mikey is pretty well trained with a wakizashi.
Mikey wants children so badly it hurts.
Mikey cannot watch movies or read books where animals die. He will legit have a breakdown
All Mikeys are empaths. How well they are trained/aware just varies by incarnation.
Mikey loves reading fantasy, adores LOTR, and is an artist/writer himself though he is shy about showing his work
Leonardo is Mikeyās safe place
All Mikeys have a stuffed panda
1987 Mikey
Has naturally low chromium which is why he craves pizza as much as he does. Once it's addressed, pizza is still a favorite food but the ravenous need for it goes away
Only pizza topping he hates is spinach
Has a horrific fear of needles
Can cook much more than pizza and actually loves cooking traditional Japanese meals with Splinter. It's a special bonding time for them
Is training under Dr Goodfellow to be a vet.
As such, serves as the teamās primary medic. He has repaired a severed carotid. Scared him to death
Is a terrible patient himself. Will and has run on a broken ankle to help his family.
Everytime he and his brothers return from a battle in the Technodrome, he adds to a blueprint he is creating from memory. He currently has it about 40% mapped.
Due to his spiritual abilities, he has unknowingly created his own ADHD medicine which is why his symptoms seem less intense compared to other Mikeys. He āborrowsā a bit of focus from each of his brothers. It's so minuscule it doesn't affect them but he has to have it ārefilledā every day. If Mikey is separated from his brothers for more than 24 hours, his ADHD visibly worsens
Has low self esteem because he thinks his brothers have do much more āusefulā skills. Since his brothers and Splinter learned of this, they have a family therapy session each week using info April obtains for them. It's helping.
2003 Mikey
Has dangerously low self esteem that he hides extremely well. Grudge Match exposed some of it
Considers Leo having to leave for the Ancient One a failure on his part because his role is to āmake everyone feel better.ā
Does not like the Ancient One but is respectful. May be connected to him associating him with Leo leaving.
His anger is actually more dangerous than Raphās but his fuse is so long that it almost never has a chance to build and ignite.
Had been working on a portrait of Master Yoshi for years for Splinter based on the stories they were told. When Splinter received the orb from the Uyroms, he quietly put it away because it seemed āinsultingā to offer it when Splinter had something so much better
After BTTS, asked Raph to help him make a better Turtle Titan costume because as cool as the Justice Force one was, it didn't seem like his. Just asked for one request: red, blue and purple be incorporated into the design somewhere
Has carpal tunnel. Donnie has started to incorporate braces into his wrist guards
Has ADHD, combined presentation (but leaning more hyperactive)
Is a great cook but will refer to Raph for grilling, Don for drinks and Leo for noodles or rice. He will plan dinners thst purposely require all his brothers dobthry cook together without him having to outright ask.
After their first adventure to the Underground City, he refused to use his nunchaku for almost 2 weeks. Raph finally got out of him that it reminded him of watching all his brothers and friends get captured.
Hides the fact he reads Shakespeare and classic novels because he does not want any cracks about his intelligence.
He and Splinter have a fractured relationship. Mikey feels his father doesn't try to understand him and āI will never be good enough for you, will I?ā It is able to be repaired partially but not fully
Mikey is the only person in the Justice Force who Silver Sentry trusts with his secret identity.
If Mikey can get away with it, he will try to convince his father to allow more cats into the Lair. He has succeeded with Balloons and after Mrs. Morrison passes, Raph adopts Lucy, the grand total is three. Mikey currently has his eye on a black or grey Cat next.
Began using Tai Chi to meditate as it lets him move while still focusing
Will camp out in Donnieās lab if he's scared because he knows Donnie will be there working late or working early so he feels safe. While neither of them admit this, there is a pallet, blanket and a pillow always in the corner
Used to bite his fingers severely. Now will clutch stuffed animals until the feeling passes.
Is jealous of Donnieās relationship with Leatherhead.
The world needs your art, your voice, your dedication, more than ever before!
Little brother jumping into or onto older brother š¢it's a tradition like with Brawn and Brains of the sledge hammeršš§”
Okay so apparently Chris Kratt has been method acting gazelles since the 90s.
In the old Kratts' Creatures episode "Mungu's Revenge" if y'all wanted to know which eps he was literally out there on all four munching and EATING GRASS No with a creature power suit.
The Chrisselle We knew from Wild Kratts?? He was already existing doing that BEFORE it was animated. Which actually caught me off guard because I was thinking it was just Y'know A silly thing for kids to see on Cartoon but to Actually see The Irl Chris doing it was amusing lol.
Thirty years of commitment to being a gazelle. It's funny but No offense lol.
ššæ @wildhorizon ( Just letting you know!! It was smth new I guess)
enjoy this compilation I made of Chris succumbing to the instincts of the creature power suit
Martinās being Martin
I wanted to make it longer but my iPad couldnāt handle it, so if yāall wanna see a part 2, Iāve got ideas :))
Let's appreciate the fact that when scared, Chris first instinct is to hide behind his big brother
Hints that Chris may have an anxiety disorder.
(Disclaimer: in order for something to be considered a disorder, it must impede with normal day-to-day functioning. And also, the anxiety has to be irrational. If someone only shows anxiety when theyāre in danger, then thatās not a disorder, thatās just being a normal human. Chris doesnāt display too much of that, so these āhintsā are really just for headcanons and are not meant to be seen as proving anything in actual canon. Being more prone to anxiety ā having an anxiety disorder. This is all just for fun, donāt take it too seriously.)
1. Flight of the Draco - In this episode, Chris is showing off his climbing skills when he ends up taking a huge fall and getting a concussion. After this, the next time he thinks about climbing a tree, his vision becomes dizzy and the audience can hear his heartbeat, which implies that his heart is beating harder than normal. He has been traumatized so badly that it scared the āclimbingā out of the āClimbing Brotherā. This could imply that heās more sensitive to danger or pain, and is more likely to develop anxiety towards something after having a negative experience with it. (Thereās more to this point but weāll get back to that later.)
2. Little Howler - In this episode, while the Bros are observing a pack of wolves at their den, a cougar appears and attacks the wolves. Keep in mind, the Bros never actually get involved in any way, they simply stand back and watch as the wolves fend off the cougar. When the Bros return to the Tortuga, Chris shakily says āThat cougar surprise sure woke me up,ā while he takes a drink of water from his thermos, while his hand is shaking so much heās spilling drops of water, and when he hears Little Howler growl in Martinās bag, he flinches and his nervous smile is replaced by a frightened expression. Meanwhile Martin on the other hand is completely fine and acting perfectly normal. So even though they went through the exact same experience, Chris was affected by it much more than Martin, calling back to the previously mentioned theory about how heās just naturally more sensitive to bad experiences.
Essentially Chris has somewhat severe anxiety for basically no reason. Nothing bad happened to him or Martin, they were not in any danger from this particular experience. But for some reason his fight-or-flight response has been triggered anyway, resulting in him feeling like heās in danger even when he clearly isnāt.
OR maybe his anxiety was actually caused by his other experiences from earlier in the day, when he was thrown into the air by a moose and then chased by wolves who wanted to eat him because he was in a moose suit at the time. This is a much more rational thing to be nervous about, however, these events happened a long time before he returned to the Tortuga (probably hours ago), so it doesnāt make any logical sense for him to still be scared so long after the danger has already passed. So either way, this is one of the strongest points, as there is no rational way to explain Chrisā anxiety in this scene, which makes it probably the best example of what could be a true anxiety disorder.
3. Voyage of the Butterflier XT - In this episode, while the Bros are āhibernatingā with the butterflies, Chris is seen sucking his thumb in his sleep. It is likely that adult thumb-sucking is a method to relieve anxiety or stress, or could also be leftover from a childhood trauma, where the child turned to thumb-sucking to self-soothe during that time, and the habit just never left. Therefore, this scene implies that Chris had some kind of anxiety, likely in his sleep, perhaps a nightmare, and began subconsciously sucking his thumb to comfort himself.
4. Lemur Legs - In this episode, Chris is telling the crew about lemurs when a sifaka lemur sneaks up behind him and makes a loud noise, startling him. He yelps and bolts to hide behind Martin, and when Martin moves out of the way, Chris is still standing frozen and visibly shaken. Normally, most people would jump but then quickly calm down as soon as they realize that thereās no danger. Chris did not calm down, instead he stayed frightened for a good while longer than was necessary. This, again, implies that Chris is more sensitive to fear than most people. (Also the fact that his first instinct when scared is to hide behind his big brother is both adorable and along with the fact that Martin never questioned it might imply that heās done this many times before.)
5. Shapes of the Armadillo - This point was inspired by @theunwantedgamerawebtoonhuman in their post about this episode which I have linked below, so thanks to them for that. This episode shows that Chris is very afraid of being hurt, as he explicitly says that heās afraid that being used as a bowling ball to knock over pins, even with armadillo armor, will be painful. However, nobody else seems to have this worry, even Martin who will also be doing it with him. This is where Point 1 comes back into play. When you take his past into consideration, how heās been seriously hurt in Flight of the Draco, and also in Chimpanzee and Me, it starts to sound like maybe his fear is caused by those experiences. Maybe those two injuries messed him up psychologically, leaving him with anxiety. Heās so afraid of being hurt again that he gets nervous incredibly easily and can sometimes have an overactive āfight-or-flightā response.
Final Point: This last one isnāt episode specific, but Chrisā love for organizing and needing to keep all of his things in their correct place could be a result of his anxiety. Maybe heās obsessed with organizing because not knowing where all of his things are makes him anxious. Maybe it gives him a feeling of control to place all his things exactly where he wants them. Or maybe itās simply the physical act of organizing thatās comforting. In the episode Fossa Palooza, when he was feeling really sad, he went down to the garage to organize the gear to make himself feel better.
All of these things could point to Chris having an anxiety disorder, if you want to read it that way. Once again, this isnāt meant to be proving anything in canon, but more so just fuel for your headcanons. Itās all just for fun, donāt take it too seriously.

Happy birthday Martin! (Part 2)
(Unfortunately Tumblr wouldnāt let me upload the whole video so I was forced to cut the video into 2 parts and upload them separately. This is part 2, and part 1 will be linked below.)
Today (Dec. 23) is Martin Krattās birthday! So I thought Iād honor it by creating this video compilation showing why Martin is awesome.
Martin is awesome and anyone would be so lucky to have him as a friend! Happy birthday Martin!

OKAY. IāM JUST GONNA SHARE SOMETHING I REALIZED.
FORGIVE THE CAPS BUT ITāS KRATT BRO FEELS SO ITāS WARRANTED.
In Earth Creatures, the third segment takes place in Madagascar, right?
And we can see that Martin is wearing two shirts, including a pale sweatshirt.
Now, go look at the opening of Krattsā Creatures
Thereās one shot that I KNOW was never in any episode, and itās right at the beginning. Ā Martin ramming into Chris while swinging on a vine
Chris is wearing a pale sweatshirt. Ā That is very obviously too big for him
WE KNOW CHRIS GETS COLD EASILY
JUST THINK ABOUT IT FOR A SECOND
AND REALIZE HOW CUTE THESE TWO ARE
IāM GONNA CRYYYY
This melts my heart :)
@killin-it-girl-wooo I think I found the thing you were talking about!
Itās a scene from Be The Creature - Lions where Chris and Martin are sleeping in their truck and Chris is wearing a blue shirt that is very likely to be Martinās.
This is very cuteee and lends even more credit to the idea that Martin regularly lets Chris borrow his shirts/sweaters/jackets because Chris gets cold easier.
(How long was the camera man watching them sleep? lol)
NEVER MIND I FOUND IT
Ok so my flawed memory had accidentally merged two scenes into one.
The first scene is from Shadow: The Black Jaguar, in which the Bros do this long high-five, Iām not sure how else to describe it, thatās why I made the gif to just show you (also so I can save it for future reference, I would hate to lose it again and go through this all over again).
The second is from Bad Hair Day, in which the Bros do a fist bump before turning away from each other to activate hippo and crocodile powers.
I canāt tell you how relieved I feel to have finally found them. My relentless searching finally paid off! Now I can finally go to bed!
Zach: Careful, colleagues! The forest hides strange creaturesā¦!
Donita: Ugh! Donāt be sillyā¦
Bros: *peek out from the bush* What are you doing here?!
Villains: *scream*
I love when the villains are afraid of the Bros in Creature Power Suits, itās so funny. Even though theyāre really nice most of the time, the Bros have to admit that they do get some pleasure out of tormenting the villains in this way š .
