So, I believe the aesthetic design for 40k/Rogue Trader is 18th century naval regalia from the Georgian era (late 17th to early 18th century, the Regency era was late Georgian).

Amelia being a fashion forward woman, wears clothing based on the late Victorian era.

Lord Inquisitor Xavier Calcazar's popularity doesn't bewilder me, but oh, lord, I found him creepy.

The man's attempts at manipulations are straight from any generic Pick Up Artist. The man is negging the Rogue Trader during the entire goddamn game until you stand up to him, and then he gets mean.

Unfortunately. he'll likely live in one of my RT's runs.

I really can't write much tonight... as it has been for a while. But I've figured out a few things with my RT canons.

I might have to do a ton of redesigns, but likely getting two RTs at present. Katherine (who slowly becoming independent of the template of Kadira) and Amelia... I'm holding onto a third for the DLC.

Anyway, there may or may not be more work in the future focused on them.

Remember when in the Cenobium Heinrix said that RT's name "rings a bell"?

Well, he was lying his ass off to avoid making the Inquisition seem lame and ignorant.

In reality, the Inquisition knew jack shit about the RT at the time - the Lord Inquisitor himself admits as much.

And since they lost contact with the Imperium soon after, the only info that Calcazar has on RT comes from Heinrix.

I don't think it means necessarily that Heinrix is lying.

In the other option he does not pretend to know - he just assumes you are inheriting the warrant. He was tasked to learn all about the Rogue Traders and their heirs - I always took Xavier's dialog that they only learned very late about our character. Maybe Heinrix even learned before Xavier about you, by one of his agents. Theodora went through the Maw back to Imperial Space (that will surely have gotten his attention). Then to get to wherever to pick up RT. Contact to the imperium was still possible so they had the chance to learn about RT.

Heinrix is not usually openly lying - by omission, sure but otherwise he will rather avoid topics or trying to deflect (like his dialog regarding the Inquisition spies).

It might simply be a left over from a rewrite but I do think that there are other explanations outside "Heinrix was lying" (which could be true, I just don't see it - it wasn't required here and isn't really his style, Inquisition agent or not).

Another facet to bear in mind here is that astropathic communication has been having major problems in the region.

So there’s almost certainly a delta between when Heinrix learns stuff and when he can tell Calcazar about it. It’s entirely possible Heinrix got wind of her and just hadn’t gotten a chance to tell Calcazar about it before everything went down.

But ALSO also, we see that Heinrix is pretty detail oriented. He remembers random minutiae about what the RT’s planets do and brings it up if other people neglect to mention it in a briefing. Calcazar is management, he’s not sifting through intelligence manually. (Or at least not all of it, and not as often.) So it’s possible that Heinrix saw RT’s name somewhere in an extended von Valancius family tree before any real talk of succession had started, filed it away, and vaguely remembered it months or years later.

I believe your character can be fairly well known, even before Theodora summons them to her. At the time XC likely didn't think much of whatever actions your character took prior to an inheriting the warrant, but that doesn't mean the same for Heinrix. He might have heard about it prior to meeting your character or just simply heard the name.

But, it doesn't help that wouldn't be the first time Owlcat's editing caused a plot hole. WotR is riddled with them.

Thinking about Marazhai’s first time in subspace in Starless!AU and Katie being confused for a minute before going full Iconoclast and continues whatever she's doing (likely using the agonizer or some other toy) until Marzi comes *hard* and she then dives into aftercare. Cue the very confused and vulnerable Drukhari snarling as he falls into sub drop, accusing Katie of psyker monkeigh bullshit while she's taking care of the wounds she gave him or washing his hair. He tells himself he doesn't tear her apart because the crew would and does not examine why it happened with her and not the other times he was sub among his people. No, he totally does not have soft feelings towards his mutual object of obsession.

Meanwhile I feel like Heinrix probably would avoid BDSM despite being really good at it in vanilla canon. It's far too close to what he actually does for a living and playing pretend about it is not good for him. Too worried that he can't separate play from reality and he doesn't want Katherine to be the victim of it, aftercare care or not. I feel in Starless!AU prior to Achillaes' fire incident, Heinrix likely dabbled with him and stopped when Achillaes got the implant lungs. … Though, I really wouldn't want him doing BDSM in this AU to Katie.

In Starless, there is also intense hand holding with Yrliet.
