You know what I don't really like?
I've been struggling to put it into words and its.... still weird.
But I don't like this recent trend of holograms of people who are dead.
Its.... weird? It feels like... abuse of the dead? like they can't advocate for themselves?
Whats stopping someone from.... I dunno.
Bringing back a 'version' of Carrie Fisher and using her to sell products? With no thought to if she would have wanted that?
You don't have to pay the dead money, and it's very unlikely that a lot of people are going to have a clause in their will like "any use of my holographic version is limited to X" or something.
Like Frank Sinatra selling out a concert 50 years after his death. Would it be cool? YES.
I just don't think its.... moral? It feels a bit like disrespecting personhood. Like another small step thats just eating away at what is actually YOURS.
I need to fucking be a crocodile

I’m home.
Many sacrificed all for the King, so must the King sacrifice himself for all.
[image description: a version of the meme that shows a car veering off into an exit, except the car is flipped over and on fire. the sign that indicates the rest of the highway reads "doing what i need to do" and the one for the exit reads "doing what i want to do." the car is labelled, "me, somehow doing neither."]
being in your early 20s is crazy bc there’s people who are literally married and people who’ve never even dated and people who are trapped in their childhood bedrooms waiting to get out and people who are trying to live out romanticized dream lives and people who are completely on their own and people with multi tiered support systems and we’re all supposedly peers and none of us think we’re doing it right at all
Great eared nightjar
I think I've worked out (part of the reason) why there's been such a huge uptick in folks who don't reblog things on here.
This post has like 14k notes right now, and the tags and comments and reblogs are FULL of people who didn't know about fast-reblog, and -- you guys have been slow-reblogging this whole time!?!??!?!?
In the interests of a) making your lives easier, and b) encouraging you to reblog posts, which is what keeps this site alive, here's how you fast-reblog:
On mobile: press and hold the reblog button. Your blog icon will appear. If you have sideblogs, all of the different icons will appear. Drag to whichever blog you want to reblog to, and release. Job done.
On desktop: hold down the E key and click reblog. Job done.
You're welcome. Now get reblogging.
