Random idea, but an episode where it's group of teens/young adults who do various cosplays (with an older chaperone) and they're on group holiday (or joining a growing Saint Marie cosplaying community). One of them is murdered and part of solving the case is understanding the characters they're cosplaying as.

Seb and Naomi are super into the idea while Mervin and Mattie are are super NOT into to make it more fun.

I think it would be so ridiculous and hilarious.

So I was thinking of ship names for Mervin x Naomi and right now my top picks are maomi and naovin, bit underneath is other slightly absurd name things below if anyone is interested.

Other ships names I jotted down: mervmi, mervomi, nervin, imoren, meromi, imovren, wilomas, lonabus.

Sammy Debraun (Naomi's mentor) nicknamed her "Mimi". Translated from Naomi, it means "loveliness".

Naomi translated from Hebrew means pleasant, gentle.

Cute that Mervin's grandfather's name is Ervin. Ervin is of Indo-European origin apparently, meaning "green water," "fresh water," "friend of the sea," or "army friend."

Mervin is of Welsh origin meaning "great lord".

There was a major Iranian city in Central Asia called Merv, Merve Oasis and Ancient Merv.

When I looked up of there were any words in Mervin and Naomi's names combined (kind of) the only word that came up was monoamine (with no r or v). It's a neurotransmitter and monoaminergic systems use those transmitters to regulate processes such as emotion, arousal and some types of memory.

And Naomi spelled backwards is: imoan (hehe, this was a fun discovery).

The last time she looked at them was when she was last on Saint Barnabus, with Marlon, Darlene and Neville. And as was the case with everyone, each of them had moved on, their short stay barely a footnote in theirs lives. Yet here she was, back “home” and it was all uprooted in the most brutal way possible. She was convinced her heart was broken when she heard what the people she’d grown up with has to say about her, as if she was some antagonist who wasn’t good enough for them or anywhere else.

“I–.” That single sound snapped her out of her thoughts and she instinctively marched up to him and took the box from him, her fingers brushing his making her create needless distance as she sidestepped him.

She had to turn away from him, because as much as she understood him, she needed to hear him say it. She needed to hear him express how he resonated with that emptiness too, as mean-spirited as it was, despite the bile at the back of her throat threatening to choke her. She had to know there was someone so close to her who felt it too.

Kind of crazy how when an episode was based in Saint Barnabus, Naomi's family wasn't introduced.

We met her best friend and her family, and even the officer she was inspired but stiffled by at the same time (to the point she partly left the island because of him) but not her own family she's been implied many times to be in contact with. 🤔

I do wonder if the show will explore her family more. (I think it was just her parents?)
