This is random, but seeing the 'I love you Lestat' 'Christ.' line in the show and not having been a spliced together product of marketing is so funny to me. So many people jumped to the conclusion is was spliced together for whatever reason (lesmand truthers? armand lovers?) and we still CLEARLY get a picture that Lestat and Armand had some sort of affair together (Nicki saying they spent so many nights out together). It's just an example of so much of the fandom jumping to conclusions based on the already unreliable narrators of Louis and Armand (who both have been clearly shown to forget and/or lie) and take them as truth.
THAT ISN'T TO SAY LESTAT IS TRUTH, but this is his story to tell now. Him rejecting Armand in the box is likely a result of his mother sitting there (whom he strives affection for, and who Armand seemed to leave out of his retelling), and Nicki watching them (who he also loves).

I can't stop thinking about the way they framed the end of that episode, the way they clearly wanted us to wonder if Lestat had been texting Louis, but then Gabi comes in, and when she is revealed Lestat begins to stutter again...
Children who have been severely abused can often develop a stutter. I have seen this in my own family. This show is telling us exactly what this is right from the very start. The framing and the reveal make this clear Lestat/Gabi is meant to juxtapose Louis/Lestat. And more clearly, how bad Gabi clearly is for Lestat. And I have to assume the show will be juxtaposing this with how good Louis actually is for Lestat later on in the season...
Lestat cannot even speak her name at first, that's how immediate and awful the stutter is. He looked like a child early on in the episode when he was texting her, begging her to come to him. How many times had he begged her before? How many times had she denied him? Oh this is going to hurt so so good...
I'm giving the paps my pussycat with no idea I would be in a fang fight less than an hour later.
