this took SO LONG, thank you capcut for at least letting me auto-create the subtitles in russian and saving me from having to time them

i am not familiar with pelevin's works but i included what I managed to find through a cursory search in hopes in helped. also heres a link to the wikipedia article for kreger's revelation (disclaimer for nazi mentions) and if anyone finds a translation for it lmk so i can add it here, i know it exists somewhere but I was unable to find it not sure why

also fun fact: the first one is part of a series of pseudo historical short stories (the other 3 are "The Reconstructor", "Weapon of Retaliation" and "Music from the Pillar"). ok that's al on pelevin i think

translator notes:

GH speaks with a LOT of filler words. im pretty sure they make up at least 1/3 of this whole interview. I also had to paraphrase things quite a bit due to the rambly nature of the entire interview but I tried my hardest to preserve the original meaning (unusually, he uses в общем и целом(that i either omitted or translated as 'in the grand scheme') as a filler structure. probably the first person i've heard do that)

the original interview's tone is very casual, don't let my stiff phrasings fool you. i'm just still bad at getting across emotions in my translations

i'm also really sorry if the quality of the video is shitty (idk what happened) or if the text goes by too fast, i tried to eliminate the silences but it occasionally backfired
