#20's AU #... she wanted to be an actress

"I’ve been doing some soul-search— Did you just say that Atros is gone? When did that happen?!" he gasped, "And what do you mean there are more villains running around?" The prospect wasn’t scary now though. In fact, it was exciting. That meant that he’d have the opportunity to fight soon hopefully.

"Oh, he's been gone for- for months! Lyssa and some others took him down, reported back that he was out of commission." She smiled and stood back, hands on her hips.

"Also, uh, some villains apparently have been hiding here for some years. When the DC wall cracked way back when. At least something's happening, though!"

She stood up, looking at him curiously. She let out a laugh as she looked him over. He was still such a huge goof-ball, no matter how different he looked.

"It has been forever! Jeez, I haven’t seen you since… since, God I don’t even know!" She laughed again then stepped forward to give him a little hug.

"I know!" he said, squeezing her tight. "I’ve been away for such a long time, but I’m back to stay. For good this time!" With a small grunt, he lifted her off the ground and spun her around before setting her back down as gently as he could.

"How’ve you been?"

She squealed and laughed nervously as she was spun in the air and settled down. She liked the ground. The ground was good. "That's great, Nox! I'm so glad you're back for good! Especially with Atros gone and more villains on the loose."

"I've been fine... just fine, really! Preparing for my next stage of life... all that jazz. What about you? What have you been doing?"

19 paused before she sighed again, a little puzzled. The voice was very familiar. She looked up at the newcomer who tripped over past her and sat up. The voice didn’t match the look though. He looked… mostly the same but different in many regards.

She paused before speaking hesitantly, “… Nox? Is that you?”

Nodding his head enthusiastically, he practically danced in place, anxious to throw his arms around her. He was so relieved that she was still here. Grinning from ear to ear, he spread his arms wide, inviting her in for a big hug.

"It’s been forever!"

She stood up, looking at him curiously. She let out a laugh as she looked him over. He was still such a huge goof-ball, no matter how different he looked.

"It has been forever! Jeez, I haven't seen you since... since, God I don't even know!" She laughed again then stepped forward to give him a little hug.

"Robbie!" he gasped, his whole face lighting up. He’d recognize those chocolate curls anywhere. Dashing closer, he caught a small look at himself in the mirror. He had changed. His razor-sharp teeth had become flat. Normal. His skinny frame had bulked up some and his hands didn’t look so monstrous. In fact, he looked normal.

Caught up in this new revelation, he tripped over his feet and went tumbling past the agent. Well… some things never changed. Turning beet red, he scrambled to his feet and grinned sheepishly. "Robbie it’s me!"

It had been months since he had been to the tower. After his fight with Scarecrow-turned-nightmare, he had needed time to think and grow. For so long he had been a mindless lackey, a servant, then a guardian and a friend. His grand plans of becoming a super villain seemed less enticing once he had gained friends. Then… memories of his past life had come back to him. He didn’t want to be a villain. He wanted to be just like his hero, Captain America.

He had fuzzy memories of seeing him in the newsreels before the movies would play. It simply took some kindness from the Tumblvengers for him to remember his original dream. Now, it was time to repay that kindness. He needed his team and he sure hoped his team needed him.

Wandering the familiar halls, he found himself in the training rooms, wondering if he would find anybody new, or if it was all the same, good ol’ people he knew.

Yoga. Yoga would help. That is what Agent 19 had told herself. Nothing like the clearing of one's mind and the practice of stretching yourself out, to distract from other things. Like the quiet of the tower or the supervillains waiting somewhere in NYC or somewhere else in the world. Who eve knew where!

19 sighed loudly as she gave up on Tree pose and flopped onto the mats of the gym. Spread eagle on her back, she sighed again at the ceiling. "SI-IIIIIIII-GH."
