I'm working on reblogging my Sims stories on separate accounts

I'm currently reblogging my stories on two separate accounts and wanted to give you a little update on it. I don't even know if anyone cares or is interested, but anyway, doesn't hurt to share.

So far I've reblogged the first 8 chapters of The Brights. I'll soon start to reblog chapter 1-5 of The Original Ahriman, and then I'll continue with Brights.

I'm sorry that the old story posts are so damn long, but when I first posted them I used a "keep reading" cut, but I'll make all the future posts* so short that a cut won't be necessary. Therefore I decided to remove the cut from the old posts, to give it a more consistent look with the format of the new posts. So, I'm sorry for long posts 😮‍💨

How do I reblog a post with a keep reading cut without the keep reading cut?

I tried to click on "keep reading" and then reblog, but the reblog still has the cut. So I tried to click on reblog first, then "keep reading" in the reblog editor and then I reblog it, but the reblog still has the cut. I know I've been able to do this before. Did they change it?

New Blog for My Sims Story The Brights

I will very soon start to post The Brights over on my new Tumblr sideblog. I'll start from the beginning, by reblogging my old story posts from this account. So if you want to read from the beginning, tag along!

If you don't want to read from the beginning, I'll tell you on this account when I've caught up. It may take a while though.

One change is that I'll reblog the old posts without the "keep reading" cut, because on the new blog my plan is to make short posts, short enough to not need a cut, when I get to the new posts that is. I want it to look as uniform as possible, that's why I've decided to do it this way. So, I want to warn you, some of the old posts are very long. If you don't want that to pop up on your timeline (I know I wouldn't lol), I suggest that you read on the sideblog's profile (or use any of the alternative reading places), without actually following the sideblog, until I get to the new stuff.

Age you started playing the Sims? i was around 8 years old when I first played sims 2. since then, i have played almost every sims game 🤧

The first ever family you played? it wasn't a pre-made family, i just created a bosnian family (well, two bosnian singles that built a family together) 😭

Sims 1: I only had base game Sims 2: Nightlife, Seasons, Open for Business and Bon Voyage Sims 3: Late Night, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, Pets, Ambitions, World Adventures (tbh, every single pack was so so good) Sims 4: Seasons, Cottage Living, City Living, High School Years, Island Living, Snowy Escape, Eco Lifestlye

Age you started playing the Sims I started to play The Sims 1 when I was 9.

The first ever family you played I'm not sure, but the first one I can remember was a household with two sims who lived in a two-story house. They didn't have a fire alarm, so one of them died by fire while cooking and the other one starved on the second floor because the stairs burned down.

Favourite expansion packs For The Sims 1 it's Makin' Magic, but shout-out to Livin' It Up for introducing the Grim Reaper and woohoo. It's been so long since I played The Sims 2, but I'd say probably Apartment Life, solely for the witches lol. When it comes to The Sims 4, I have actually only explored five of the expansion packs fully (GTW, GT, CL, IL, DU), and out of those five I pick Discover University.

Things you would like to be added to the game More romantic animations (not just new interaction names using old animations), more interactions between three or more sims, bugg (a type of partner dance), more instruments.

3 Years of Ahriman! 🎉

Today is three years since I started to post my second Sims story, The Original Ahriman.

This year Ahriman received a mission to conduct research on how to make Ambrosia. So far they've gathered info on Brent Hong and three vampires, and flirted with Death (again).

Meanwhile, Morgyn broke up with Áine, told her to think about her past, and then went with Keisha and Joanna on a long trip to prepare themself for their future role as a Sage.

If you want to read the story you can find it on Bluesky (story account and feed) and here on Tumblr (master post). I always post on Bluesky before posting on Tumblr, so I suggest Bluesky if you want to be up to date.

I've been thinking about whether I should create two separate story accounts and I need your input.

The first reason for why I've been thinking about this is to make it more clear which posts are part of which story, without having to put the story title at the top of every post, so instead I could have just the chapter name. This would probably also make it easier for readers who only read one of the stories.

The second reason is because I'd like it to be easier to navigate my profile for those who don't read my stories but still want to follow me, for things like my mods.

The third reason is to just keep it cleaner, so that the story accounts could have only my story posts. This account would still have some story related things, but only things like Q&As, character sheets, worldbuilding, and such.

The forth reason is because I've been thinking about making shorter story posts and more of them. So I will still post just as much, just cut it up in smaller parts. This is partly to open up for comments, but also because I'll hopefully be able to have fewer "keep reading" cuts. I also hope that it makes it easier for readers, especially occasional readers.

I won't remove anything that has already been posted on this account, if I create two new accounts I'll start with reposting all the previous story posts from this account.

Does anyone have any input on this? Would you find it easier to read? Have you tried this yourself and how did it go?

I don't know if it's just me, but I found some of these unclear, so I don't even know if I filled it in correctly.

I had trouble with "played any of the previous parts", do you mean "played any of the previous The Sims instalments"? What about "makes edits", do you mean "edits screenshots"? And "does rotations", is that "plays rotationally"?

Also, what's BC?

Do you prefer longer or shorter posts when you read Sims stories? For example, do you prefer when a story post is a whole scene, several scenes, just a short conversation, or maybe just one picture? Does it depend on what kind of story it is or do you always have the same preference?

Keisha: I'll do some housework, to repay Nils for his hospitality, and then I'll see if I can find any interesting crystals. Joanna went out to study the magical entomofauna.

Nils: Ready to learn?

Morgyn: Yes! Thank you for taking the time.

Nils: Tell me, Morgyn, how come you want to learn about Herbalism?

Morgyn: I enjoy learning new things.

Nils: Well, yes, but what more is there to it? Why Herbalism specifically? You spellcasters already have a lot of concoctions.

Morgyn: To be honest, I want to try to help someone. I know I'm grasping at straws, but I want to at least give it a try.

Nils: A curse with no known cure?

Morgyn: Kind of.
