Carol Kaye broke into rock's boys' club, played on a generation's greatest hits, and then, mostly, went quiet.

I’ve posted about her before.  She played bass on dozens of hits in the 1960′s and 70′s including songs by The Beach Boys during Brian Wilson’s most creative period.  His devotion to her was particularly noteworthy given that he was the bassist in the band and easily their best musician.
