NOT AN APOLOGY FIC I JUST WANNA MAKE THAT CLEAR

It’s more of a character study; I wanted to write about a character spiraling into the worst possible version of themself

I saw one video about someone traveling in the Faroe Islands and knew immediately I had to write something with it as a setting so here we are

Kevin and Neil go into hiding on the Faroe Islands and end up staying with Wymack; Neil accidentally finds himself falling for Andrew; minor angst ensues

Established Kandreil at the beginning of the fic, but primarily focuses on Kevin figuring out that he also likes Jeremy Knox and Jean Moreau; Andrew and Neil are more than willing to share Kevin

Kevin spends the off season with Jeremy and Jean while Neil and Andrew are in Germany visiting Nicky and Aaron; feelings ensue

ships will include: Kandreil, Andriel, Jerejean, Kevjerejean and Kevjerejeandreil but in the sense that Kevin is dating all four of them (andrew and neil are not dating jean and jeremy, and vice versa)

still working on my longform chapter of andrew for my texting fic but in the midst of writing that, here's the potential opening for my Kevin + his four boyfriends fic

disclaimer: this needs a LOT of editing, there's a ton of run on sentences, but when I draft I don't care about quality, i care about getting it out onto the page, so apologies if this sounds terrible

Chapter One

Some mornings looked like this: with Kevin waking up alone in his bed to the sounds of light traffic and birds, and some shuffling coming from the hallway. He glanced at the clock, where dim neon lightning indicated that it was just a quarter past five in the morning, and any minute now Neil would pass by his room for his run. Sometimes, he would crack open the door, and stick his head in to check on him. Sometimes Kevin was awake and other times he was asleep. Sometimes Neil wouldn’t bother. He’d head out the door, go for his run and then come home. On the mornings that Neil didn’t check on him before his run, Kevin could usually guarantee that Neil would check on him afterwards, once he had come home, hot and sweaty, head poking through the cracked door to wish him good morning. Sometimes, if Neil was feeling up to it, he would come into the room, and press a gentle kiss to his forehead, to which Kevin would whine, and push him away because he stank from the sweat and Neil would laugh, and disappear back into the hall to shower.

Sometimes Andrew would check on him too, lingering in the doorway while Neil showered. Andrew would never enter until Kevin sat up in bed and told him it was okay to come closer. If he was lucky, Andrew might even run his fingers through his hair, using that as leverage to tilt his head back. And Kevin would hum, his body still full of sleep and Andrew would lean down to kiss him before wandering off into the kitchen to make breakfast. By that point, it would be past 6 am, and Kevin knows he should get up, but if he stays in bed, Neil will come looking for him after his shower and sit on the edge of the bed with him, and tell him about the things he saw on his run in a gentle candance and Kevin will close his eyes to listen. He will grab Neil’s hand, and gently run his thumb over the back of hand, tracing lazy shapes until Andrew comes in to tell them that breakfast is ready, and only then will Kevin force himself out of the comfort of his bed.

working on a longform chapter for andrewnotfound has followed you and was trying to understand how Andrew's interest in Neil works and have decided that it's ultimately because Neil doesn't know he exists. He's gone four months liking and commenting on his old videos in a language Neil doesn't understand and Neil hasn't noticed, so it's safe for Andrew to continue being obsessed with him and his content, and as long as Neil continues to not notice him it's safe to like him

Okay much like with the Faroe Island WIP I can't stop thinking about THIS ONE either so Elodie Moreau whose brother is sold to the Moriyamas but was told by her parents that Jean abandoned her for something better; Elodie Moreau who has no concept of who Riko is, has no idea about the nest or Kevin or Neil or the mafia or any of Jean's trauma because they never talk about it; Elodie Moreau who doesn't understand why her older brother seems weak and cowardly and pathetic but looks at her with something in his eye as if to say 'i understand' but how could he possibly know anything about what she went through because he left her alone in that house with their parents; Elodie Moreau who finally learns the truth about what happened to her brother when Jean finally loses it and snaps at her in French, recounting all of the terrible things Riko did to him and not understanding why he just didn't fight back; Elodie Moreau who is vicsious and angry as an adult to ensure people are too afraid to come close to her—if they can't get close they can't hurt her—because somewhere in the back of her mind she thinks that maybe if she were angrier as a child, if Jean was angrier as a child then maybe just maybe people wouldn't have hurt them as much

(if I start rereading aftg I can procrastinate starting the sunshine court when it arrives and save myself the heartache I know Jean will cause me; that's how this works right?)

ordered physical copies of the sunshine court and the golden raven I am not prepared; my reread of the original trilogy last year did nothing to prepare me I am horrified at what potentially goes on inside Jean's head but I will be brave (that is a lie I will cry the entire time)
