look, I do suffer from believing-Adam-is-still-alive disease, but disregarding that for a moment:

it says so much to me about Lawrence's character and his feelings for Adam that he would condemn Hoffman to die the same way Adam did. Chained up in a dirty bathroom. In the dark. Alone. He wanted Hoffman to feel exactly what Adam felt. Except Hoffman isn't granted the mercy Adam was. No one's going to come and end his suffering. Adam's torture was the hope that Lawrence would come back for him. Hoffman's torture is knowing that he won't.
