i had to double check this and i remembered that @memories is still functioning. it was an april fools blog in 2019 where tumblr made a fake "memories" feature (like facebook memories) but it made up posts that you never posted. it had to be contained in a blog for it to work so the blog is still there. its posts are unique to your account's information (mostly tags you post with)

asked our friendslop gaming discord if its cool to open up invites to be more public so we could hit a critical mass of people to have like 3-4 on hand to play a game at any time but they reminded me it was like for vetted friends only, which is fine but i realized im out of friends to invite since i dont really talk to anyone on line and my irl friends are either not gamers or not allowed into the sreegs zone of knowing me. i should probably be friends with more people.

after you contact me i will silently judge you based on your vibes, then invite you if you seem chill. sorry this is not meant to be a high bar, the last time i tried to run a discord like this i didnt vet until after people joined and had to awkwardly ban minors who were into hazbin hotel (no offense but thats not the mood)

we also occasionally host long-running servers. We have Terraria and Vintage Story going now and I'm probably gonna pop up a Project Zomboid server when i feel the mood to play it

Our server's still going strong. The last time we posted this we got a good wave of new members. If you'd like to game with people who are (master shake voice) 30 or 40 years old and just play games for fun, not necessarily to win, come hang out with us. We're currently playing Meccha Chameleon and Barotrauma on the reg, but we're always down for pickup games of co-op stuff like Peak. We're eagerly awaiting the release of Big Walk. AND we put up a modded Java Minecraft server based around an easy-to-install Minecraft Create modpack.

If you all will allow me a moment to analyze the competition as it exists, there's something interesting going on with the numbers.

As we all know, thanks to the support of the good people of Tumblr, Tylenol has experienced a meteoric rise to second place. Even though her competition is stiff, I believe in Tylenol's ability to go the distance.

But let's take a look at the competition:

Elmer seems to be a lovely boy. I have no qualms with Elmer, and think he would look fantastic on a beer can. But what about Elmer's campaigns? Who is the power behind the throne here, and how have they managed to find such breakout success on this competition?

A handful of wealthy donors are trying to buy this competition.

At the end of the day, all donations are good donations here. This is a charity event so every penny earned is going to help animals in need. But it's not lost on me that Elmer's current ranking is thanks entirely to a few individuals with the financial means to put their thumbs on the scale.

Tylenol's donors, comparatively, are small and numerous, mostly $1-10 donations from many passionate believers in what she stands for (autism and pain relief I think).

Overall, the donations tell a very different story than what the base ranking shows you. Elmer is held aloft by just 24 donors and bolstered by a few wealthy patrons, whereas Tylenol has won the hearts of literally hundreds of people. Even the current third place, Abby, owes her ranking to numerous small contributions rather than one or two large ones.
