Dr. S. Radhakrishnan on The Brahma Sūtra

In the preface of his book on the Brahma sūtra, here is a comment that he makes:

Though India has impressive achievements to her credit in art and architecture, literature and morals, science and medicine, all these derive their inspiration from philosophy as love of wisdom or the life of spirit. Its aim is to produce not wise Hindus or Christians but wise men. If the spiritual orientation of the country is undermined or disturbed, the nature of the civilisation will change.

ಇದ ವಿಚಾರಿಸೆ ಬರಿಯ ತೊಳಸಿಯ

ವುದಕದಂತಿರೆಯಿಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಳ್ಪುದು

ಪದುಮನಾಭನ ಮಹಿಮೆ ಧರ್ಮವಿಚಾರ ಮಾತ್ರವನು.

The metaphor he invokes that the addition of tuLasi converts water to teertha to describe his work is beautiful :-)
