LOADING ⭯ Looking at the man that had him in a vice grip, it took him a while to recognized the chocolate colored hair and the mans brown seeing face spheres. He nearly screamed when he recognized the man as he hugged the man back in a koala grip keeping his feet off the ground. He then noticed the person that was just a bit away from his sehun. “oh my sister is here too.”

“so…it’s been years, huh?” he says, attempting to break the tension. “i bet you weren’t expecting to see us here…” his voice trails off, suddenly remembering why he’s there and what he’s actually meant to be doing instead of trying to reconnect with his old friend. he and joohyun have both got work to do, and it’s the reminder that has sehun realizing exactly when chen is wearing. the soldier uniform had always been unmistakeable.
“how long…?” he begins to ask but stops himself, not wanting to draw attention to the fact, since it might bring chen to remember that he, too, is working. instead, he diverts his question, putting on airs. “have you been out in the sun that you need to be refreshed by getting all soaked?”
at the very least, she’s almost glad that they don’t question how she knew the reason behind his impromptu street shower and if anything, she wishes the person had done something to the travesty that is his haircut instead. eyes narrowing, she asks herself is that a mullet, the audacity. scoffing at his reaction to her, she barely looks to sehun when he tries to lighten the mood. it’s not that her and her brother disliked each other any more than they did in the past, if she could call it dislike at all — to her, it’s not anyway. “ he replaced me with a dog. ” it’s her contribution to distract from the uniform sehun didn’t seem to notice at first, the first alarm that they should’ve continued to keep their distance.
“ should we go get something to eat? ” because knowing her brother, he’s either forgotten to or tried to get a meal only for it to be ruined by someone else. he’s always had such rotten luck. most of all, she thinks it best for them not to stay in such direct and plain sight. part of her wonders if she should’ve warned him sooner, if sehun even remembers that her older brother died in shinhwa not too long before his parents, but maybe that makes it more logical for him to think chen wouldn’t join. it’s his duty as the new oldest son and she has no say in any of it either. “ maybe an ice cream instead of getting soaked to cool down, ” joohyun says pointedly to her brother, still glaring at his horrendous hairstyle.
Chen kept his feet off the ground and continued to cling onto Sehun, it was easier that way. The height was also a new experience, is this the view that tall people see? is this the air they breathe? He felt his sister’s gaze on him, it’s been years and she still looked the same. Though age is obvious on her face, she didn’t have the youthful glow that she once had when they were kids as if the stress was heavy on her shoulders. (or she just wasn’t aging well, Chen received all the good looks after all) Though they never really looked at each other with that brother sister grin, they never really had time with their father constantly watching over their shoulders. Perhaps they would have developed a different relationship if it were for the circumstances, but he has a dog now so it’s just as good if not better.
He could feel Sehun fidget in his koala grip, which he still held on tightly as he didn’t want to fall from such a height. He could see how uncomfortable the man was, though it could have been that he was not letting up on his hold on the man, but he could probably sense the awkward atmosphere that was developing between him and his long lost evil sister. “Maybe an ice cream instead of getting soaked to cool down.” his sister suggested. He stared at her, as she glared at him with disdain. He held her gaze for probably thirty seconds longer than was comfortable for anyone. “I suppose.” he said, he kicked his heels into Sehun’s leg as he would for any horse or chocobo. “Let’s go then.” pointing into the direction of the ice cream stand.
