Alright, here's the deal. As much as I love Greek mythology, I really do kiiind of wanna avoid people getting on my case for tying an OC to it, so! For a few months now, I've been picking at old OCs and lore relating to them / the fictional gods associated with them, and I've finally found a way to tie them all together in one connected universe with Cam and Soren just, right in the center because I play favorites. Chances are I will be moving Cam onto that blog with said other OCs and the lore that I've created just because I've spent this long on it already and like Hell am I gonna let it go to waste

When the new blog is finished, I'll link it here!! Nothing is really gonna change about Cam like, at all actually, bc he's kind of the central piece of all this, but fair warning that a few NPC names may change so don't be surprised when that pops up.

It's  stressful,  really,  the  way  things  are  nowadays.  Word  of  a  broken  world  filled  with  various  random  portals  has  reached  the  public  and  they're  panicked  as  any  sane  person  would  be,  but  it's  not  exactly  them  that  Cam  is  concerned  about.  It's  the  people  pouring  in  from  said  portals,  yanked  from  their  home  universes  and  dropped  into  New  York  regardless  of  whether  those  people  have  ever  been  in  the  state  at  all.  The  girl—Angie,  he  thinks  she  said—is  just  another  victim  in  all  this.  And,  like  several  of  the  others  who  popped  in  through  portals,  he  can  feel  that  she's  no  ordinary  human.  There's  something  off  about  her,  but  those  aren’t  details  he  needs  to  know  right  now.  Or  rather,  it's  information  he  has  an  idea  of  and  he’ll  have  to  pretend  he  doesn't  until  there's  no  way  he  can  avoid  it.  For  now,  the  main  priority  is  helping  her  out;  his  theories  about  what  she  is  can  wait  until  later.  God  forbid  he  make  her  any  more  unnerved  than  she  already  is.

He's  not  sure  who  really  put  him  in  charge  of  explaining  the  situation  to  new  people  and  making  sure  they're  all  caught  up,  but  apparently  this  is  his  job  now,  and  it's  up  to  him  to  make  sure  everyone  is  on  the  same  page.  At  her  questions,  Cam  breathes  out  a  long,  exhausted  sigh.  He's  been  through  this  explanation  several  times  in  the  past,  so  much  so  that  he  might  as  well  have  it  rehearsed,  but  he  keeps  his  cool  the  best  he  can.

"  I've  been  working  on  something  for  a  while  now,  but  everything  I  have  at  the  moment  is  a  little  unstable,  so...  Sorry,  it'll  be  a  bit  before  you  get  home  safely.  "  That's  always  the  worst  part  about  this.  These  people  are  scared  and  confused  after  traveling  to  an  entirely  new  world,  sometimes  from  a  different  time  as  well,  and  Cam  has  to  confess  that  it  may  be  a  while  before  they  ever  get  that  stability  back  as  the  cherry  on  top.  God,  he  can't  even  imagine  what  that's  like  to  be  so  frightened.  If  he  wasn't  set  on  working  as  hard  as  he  could  before,  he  certainly  will  now.  There's  not  a  single  second  to  waste.

"  But,  the  good  news—or  the  bad,  I  guess—is  that  this  has  been  happening  for  a  while  now  so  we  at  least  have  a  place  for  new  people  like  you  to  stay!  Free  of  charge,  of  course,  'cause  I  doubt  anyone  really  loaded  their  wallets  just  in  case  they  got  sucked  into  a  new  universe...  "  It's  an  attempt  at  a  joke,  one  that  likely  falls  flat  given  the  mood,  and  he's  quick  to  move  on  with  a  smile  on  his  face  before  either  of  them  can  comment  on  how  bad  that  joke  was.  "  Anyway,  uh,  I  could...walk  you  there,  maybe,  just  to  make  sure  you  get  there  fine?  And–  Not  gonna  lie,  I  kinda  had  a  few  questions  I  wanted  to  ask  about  your  world  on  the  way  there,  too.  It’s  all  for  research  purposes,  I  promise  I  won’t  pry  about  anything  else!  "

Really,  Cam  understands  what  it’s  like  to  have  a  separate  entity  as  an  Ability,  he  knows  what  it’s  like  when  Soren  likes  to  get  particularly  feisty  in  a  manner  not  entirely  unlike  Elise,  but  he’s  quick  to  be  hypocritical,  and  can’t  help  but  to  find  Elise  a  little  annoying.  He  knows  better  than  to  say  this  out  loud  of  course,  mostly  because  her  threat  to  get  Mori  involved  was  a  very  real  one,  and  not  anything  he  really  wants  to  put  up  with.  While  Cam’s  not  fond  of  said  boss  in  the  slightest,  he’s  also  smart  enough  to  know  it’s  best  to  just  shut  up  and  do  as  he’s  told,  especially  where  Elise  is  concerned.
