A sob broke free from Carterâs pale thin lips, her body shaking in anger. Her blood was boiling, her fingers digging into her palms as her hands scrunched up in fists. âI-Iâm sorry..â She muttered, trying to pry her mind, trying to figure out who it was. âI c-canât remember. I-Iâm trying to r-remember.â She felt like hitting her head, something, anything to help her remember. But nothing worked. Her eyes diverted from the Doctor, to Colton, Derek as his hand gripped herâs tightly and then to her children resting on her lap, oblivious as to what was happening. 'Unfortunately, we couldn't find anything, who ever he was. He was smart.'Â Carter looked up again, her eyes wide as her mind flashed over tiny details. A large gasp broke free from her mouth and she jolted in the bed. Images popped up in her head, her bright white bathroom, her wrists burning. carter looked down at her wrists with wide eyes, the lacerations around her wrist obvious.Â
Derek looked down at Carter as her eyes shut, her mind remembering aspects of the attack. He sat down next to her hospital bed and hushed Carter, gasps escaping her mouth as she flinched in the bed. "Carter, baby. You don't have to remember right now. Just think about getting better." Derek held her hand before looking up at Colton, his eyes wide. He couldn't believe any of this. He looked down at Carter and the children before taking them off her lap as she tried to remember, he body flinching in the bed.Â
