🌿 I think that closer to the Silverglade, the Hollow Woods can be a bit "civilized": cleared of fallen branches, with a good road and places for picnics and barbecues.
But deep down, around the Valedale village, the Hollow Woods should be dense, overgrown and mysterious. There should be a lot of runestones, mysterious plants, wild animals (like squirrels, rabbits and deer) and mist that appears with the approach of night :D

I'm procrastinating on my homework so here is a lil mock up of what I think would be nicer @pandorian-rift-sparkle I'm not a game designer so I can't say how practical any of this would be lol
I think a more minimalist UI can look really sleek and nice but I think it should keep some of the aesthetic and layout of the current UI. The main things I associate with current UI are 1. the blue colour 2. the horseshoe map 3. the phone icon. I also didn't like how small and disconnected the new UI felt with all the bubbles. It's too similar to the mobile port's UI which makes it feel cheap? I guess
In my mockup I kept the blue from the original but made the icons much simpler with a slight gradient. The map remains in the same place and keeps its classic horseshoe border. The top right corner contains the buttons that used to surround the map, along with the phone. If sso doesn't want the buttons to take up too much space during gameplay, perhaps they could stack together next to the phone and slide out when you mouse over. The top left is the player and horse details. I put back the XP bars, names, and health bar. Attached to the horse's XP bar is the level up window icon.
I think there is a nice midground between the new UI and the old UI to be found. Something sleek and minimalist, but retains the playfulness of the original :]
