brazillian expressions that i want to use but make no sense when translated to english and i have to dance around the meaning of them
1. azedou o cu do frango — “the chicken’s butthole went sour”, means that something is fucked
2. chutar o pau da barraca — “kick the wood of the tent”, means to abandon something or refrain from doing your responsibilities
3. é de cair o cu da bunda — “it makes the butthole fall from the butt”, means to deal with a bad situation
4. caralho a quatro — “dick to four”, means “bunch of stuff”. i can’t even
5. cagando e andando — “shitting and walking”, means to not care
6. o cu na mão — “holding the asshole”, means to be nervous or stressed out
7. é o fim da picada — “it’s the end of the bite”, means a very bad situation that makes you go “enough is enough”
8. imagina se pega no olho — “imagine if it hits the eye”, is used when something dangerous happens or the object looks dangerous, indicating one could be injured
9. vai ver se eu to na esquina — “go check if i’m not at the street corner”, means “fuck off”
10. trancou o cu — “the butthole was locked”, means to be super nervous about something (making you clench your butt cheeks very hard and locking your asshole)

12. o ó do borogodó — i can’t even translate this one, if you’re wondering it’s just the ó of the borogodó. means someone who gets special treatment, is important

14. engolir sapo — “swallow frogs”, means to deal with hard situations
15. pão duro — “hard bread”, means someone who avoids spending money at all costs
16.comer o pão que o diabo amassou — “eat the bread that the devil knead”, means surviving through a bad situation
17. puxa-saco — “pull-balls”, means someone that kisses asses (like the expression, not the actual act), someone who keeps saying nice things about another person just to gain benefit
18. santinho do pau oco — “saint of hollow wood”, means someone who looks like a saint from the outside, but isn’t on the inside. it’s historical. here people would build these tiny saint statues and stuff them with gold to bypass laws that required most of the gold to be handed to the portuguese colonizers
