BABY, JUST LOVE ME RIGHT β lane fostman who develops a crush on a woman out of his league.
.β¦ when you first walked into the busted gas station asking to fill out an application, the man behind the counter looked at you like you had just let loose a bunch of wild, rampant animals inside the store. he scanned you up and down, a maxi skirt with all shades of pink and brown, a white skin-tight skirt, and a cute pair of sandals. he liked what he saw; his icy blue eyes lit up in amusement. your fingers tightened their hold on the strap of your purse. βare you sure youβre at the right place, sweetheart?β he yawned, pushing his hair back.
βi think so, is this not mad dog?β your brows drew together, very obvious you were not fond of the nickname thrown at you. his lips threw a smirk your way, βare you still sure you want to apply, dear? this doesnβt seem like a place for someone like you.β his elbows propped on the register, his chin resting on the palm of his hand. your (eye color) hues followed his movements, you shrugged, βtuition needs to be paid somehow, no? summer break.β his eyebrow quirked, βmm, teaching?β that would be the only thing he saw a woman really going to college for. βno, nursing.β with those sexy scrubs used in weirdly titled porno. you bit the inside of your lip. was this even a good idea? his vibe was not it! what if this man was deemed your future coworker? he was basically stripping you with his eyes if he could salivate like a overly hydrated dog thereβd be 20lbs of saliva over the register, βiβll just make my way out.β you scratched your cheek turning your legs, βi was just kidding, here,β a small thin application stretched in front of you. βmay god have mercy on your soul,β looking to the side he whispered, βmine as well.β
that was the first impression lane had of you. a sweet, charming woman who unfortunately just didnβt keep up with his antics. he would try to spark conversation but you always clocked the way his eyes landed on your chest and would excuse yourself saying you had to clean up a spill near the refrigerators. yeah, maybe it was his fault he said your uniform would look good if you sized your shirt down not even three hours into your first shift. your beaming face twisted into a look of disgust in a heartbeat. βitβs just bad habit!β he exclaimed walking behind you his eyes falling into your assets. βi donβt care if itβs bad habit, you donβt speak that way to anybody.β he rolled his eyes, βthatβs just guy talk, babe.β you turned around one eye twitching a small huff of laughter pressed past his mouth.
the thing about you it was obvious you took nothing from anybody. that cheerful attitude you greeted every customer with could easily decimate anybody who spoke funny; even lane wasnβt spared. he had only known you for a couple of months and you had already made his body tingle with every insult thrown his way. βi hope you heal from the things that have caused you to act this way.β the kill him with kindness tact, βaw, you care about little ole me?β
there were shifts where there would be no peep from you he wouldnβt lie, heβs a very honest man! it was like not talking to you dried his mouth, his throat itching; he needed an epipen to calm himself down. call him easy, but even with the limited interactions you had with him, heat poured through his body. the way you moved, your scent, your hair, the small, dainty jewelry that adorned your wrists, neck, and ears. how without noticing, your shirt would lift, revealing patches of bare skin to be seen, or how the lacy design of your underwear would peek from your jeans. an attractive woman with a beautiful personality and great assets. so he, at least sometimes, tried to hold his tongue back, or else you'd never talk to him, especially when it came to pet names.
22 years of age in university to earn your bachelor's in physiology, something about becoming a motion therapist or physical health, or something like that. he had overheard you talking about it with a customer. at first he grunted, did you think you were special? did you think just because you were leaving in may with a good career and more than likely making bank that you were crowned royalty? puhlease don't make him laugh.
that ideology diminished when he caught a glimpse of the bright look in your eye, speaking about your passion; he understood nothing about cellular respiration or the sodium-potassium pump you were talking about, but he understood the passion. you never flirted with customers, never sought out attention; attention just gravitated towards you. and people took notice. customers would offer to buy you the charity chocolate that sat right beside the register, and you willingly took one, thanking them. lane especially knew how alluring you were, but you were unreachable, at least for someone as lowly as himself.
it took a month and a half, but it clicked in his head, you lived in a completely different world, be it knowledge-wise or personality-wise. you would talk about your post-graduation plans, such as taking a trip overseas before applying to an actual job, and getting lost in the daze that is healthcare. or, before an important test, you would study your notes during your breaks when you weren't looking lane would sneak glances at the colorful ink, looking puzzled at the variety of arteries and veins the human body consisted of. it stirred turmoil inside him; you had a life outside this stupid convenience store. adding fuel to his fire, it was almost every two weeks he would find a sticky note with your neat handwriting:
need tuesday off, family plans!
need thursday off, will trade for night shift!
tracing the pencil marking, he felt a jealous brew. there was a world outside of mad dog. "another party?" he turned to look at you while you arranged the front of the cashier. "nope. it was kind of spontaneous but one of my friends set me up with one of her cousins." now it was his eye's turn to twitch. "a date?" you nodded with a small smile, "with a guy you don't even know?" you sighed, leaning against shelf. "that's usually how dates work." you crossed your eyes puffing your cheeks in and out, while lane looked at you an unwavering emotion dancing through his eyes, a random guy sitting across from you while you talked about god knows what. your studies, future plans, personal stories?
like the bullet to kirk's neck, it finally clicked in his head. he was never jealous of you, even though he would repeat that shit like daily affirmations, grumbling under his breath. it was your attention he was after, all the strange and unsettling stuff he had spewed was only ever to get a reaction from you, the idea of you going out doing your makeup, picking out a cute outfit and shoes to match the vibe for someone else actually caused his fingers to tense in place.
his mind flashed the many times he tried to get your attention, rejecting his red bulls, saying you wanted to sleep tonight, rejecting his advances. or that one time you stopped by on your day off to buy headache medicine while out with your friends and stunned the store with such a girly outfit, gagging him for sure. the pinks and greens complemented your skin tone well; lane's mouth parted, watching the skirt's material twirl below you in a trance. "yep," he stood behind you watching you pick up a small pill bottle, "you should definitely be careful walking like that, (name)." you rolled your shoulders, "i can handle myself, but thanks for the compliment." he tucked his hands inside his pockets, "not a compliment." shaking your head you looked over at the empty register, "ring me up."
present lane continued. "he'll probably think you're easy. i mean meeting a random guy whose name you don't even know. wow." you stiffened, wrinkles forming on your forehead. "what are you talking about?" he shrugged, he knew he had crossed a line, he threw a lazy grin. "just saying what he'll probably think." his jealousy had taken an identity of its own. you had inched closer to him, the soft scent of your shampoo wafting to his nose. "just saying,"
"no, no, no im not falling into your stupid trap." placing your hand on his chest you softly pushed him back. "what trap?" he steadied himself. "you're just trying to make me feel bad about going. you're always talking about women and how handsome you are." he winked, "i know i am." you shook your head. "why don't you find someone to go out with instead of going home to fist fuck your hand?" you covered your mouth, fully registering the words that had seeped through, your eyes blown wide. "pfft!" you laughed in his face he might've preferred an actual argument instead, but seeing you laugh front and center in his field of vision brought a welcoming warmth. your shoulders shook with every laugh, your hand swatting in front of your face as if it would calm you down. Lane stared at you with a soft look, the reddening of his cheeks pinching his skin. "you evil woman." despite that, a small laugh erupted from him. in between laughs, you countered, "you're not turning this on me!"
"i was just expressing concern towards my favorite coworker."
you threw your head, and it hit lane like a bullet. this, this is what he was chasing after. the (name) (last) every customer got. how your eyes would crinkle and light up at a story a random customer would tell you, or when you told them something that resonated with their personal story. still laughing, you excused yourself, "im going to go get a drink." you threw a heavy breath after catching your own. "feel free to join."
he followed behind you with a small smile of his own. whether you enjoyed your date or not, he would be here waiting.

PRETTY PEACH β tobio kageyama finds (name) kageyama rather charming after one incident.
πγ €Χ ππ kageyama tobio x mob! reader, jealous kageyama, mp100 timeline out of order π 3.2k wc
watching kageyama tobio walk past you a small wave of heat fanned from your face down to your neck. the green spirit from beside you shook his, what you want to call his head. βmob! if you want to talk to him at least say something!β he encouraged with a cross of his arms. βtalk to him?β an electric shock shot through you, your hair seemingly twisting. βi think you have the wrong idea, dimββ your phone rang stopping you.
master reigen
flipping the phone open you responded. βyes, master weβll be there.β taking one last look at the taller male who had now fully turned the corner you sighed.
kageyama slammed his back into the wall. a stiff sigh passing by his lips. βum,β tsukishima scrunched his face in disgust. tobio paid no mind to his teammate, deciding to peak his head out form the corner. black haired moved gently with each step, as (name) his classmate walked away. tsukishima being not so subtle stuck his head out the furthest earning a pull of his shirt. βdude!β
βoh, if you wanted to talk to her, she was right there. whatβs with you and mob anyways? goldfish has been talking about her nonstop since last week.β a genuine question tsukishima tried his best not to be nosy, but when the most seemingly boring girl to ever roam the earth had been in the kageyama tobioβs ear, this was noteworthy. kageyama didnβt look to meet tsukishimaβs eyes; his eye lingered on the floor like the random scuff on the ground was more interesting. βitβs nothing.β tsukishimaβs eyes widen, kageyama met eyes with him a shy, almost flustered expression overcame his face. βwe have to go; practice has already started.β
kageyamaβs wobbly feet carried him to the gym. he stopped, slid the door open, and went in. kageyama clenched his fists. a long sigh escaped him before he shook his head and walked in, leaving tsukishima more confused than ever.
incident one: k.t
kageyama's hair gently fluttered against the wind, the morning air kissing his face. his music played through his headphones played this is what he would dub a perfect saturday morning. his jogging came to a gradual slow pace, letting his muscles relax, and he took in the scenery right in front of him.
"fight on kageyama, pump it!" a gush of wind raised the hair behind kageyama's neck. not only was it a bunch of men calling his name, but a group of very, very muscular men were shouting and calling his name, taking one of his headphones out, his eyes adjusted. but taking a closer look, it seemed like they were looking past where the setter stood. that's where his irises moved, a girl who seemed to barely hold it together, her footsteps uneven, huffing in and out, it seemed like her stamina had run out a good minute ago, your arms were no longer by your side, if anything, it seemed like she was tipping over. with his luck she had to obviously fall into kageyama, his hands awkwardly wrapped around her shoulders. "kageyama!" tobio flinched, "kageyama is down! thank you so much for catching kageyama!"
"I think she did much better this time around. She's getting there!" another one joined in, the others nodding along. kageyama looked down, "is this not mob?" he asked with genuine intentions, the other men in front of him looked at each other before they let out a small laugh. "I guess that is mob, but we've only ever called her by her name: kageyama." looking down at the girl whose eyes could barely stay open, the switch in tobio's brain flipped. this was the same girl who, apparently, rumor has it, has psychic powers. "(name) kageyama..." he mumbled, she was in his class. "oh! you seem acquainted with her, that's nice! she has more friends than she lets on!" they laughed again, before one of them gently scooped her up and threw her on his shoulder like she was a sack on potatoes. "thank you for catching her once again, have a good rest of the day!"
watching them run away, (name) lay limp on a shoulder, the thudding of her head didn't seem to awake her. tobio's head cocked to the side, a warm fuzz numbing his fingers.
this was the first time he had ever held a girl.
after that day it seemed like (name) was all he ever saw. how had he not known you were in his class? especially since you were quite literally one seat in front of him. it was like some demon had overcame kageyama, he would turn rigid when (name) would quietly pass papers back his way, or the time he had accidentally bumped into her and caused her hip to smack against her desk. she had no reaction to it besides a small "ow," that left her lips, but she promised it was ok. tobio was a mess all because of kageyama. he'd catch himself watching as she left school with her brother, her hands sometimes moving to exaggerate her plain yet melodic words. shaking his head to escape said daze, only to pan at her desk, her locker, or to see her struggle to carry weights in her own club.
the kageyama tobio was acting so eccentric that the even more peculiar hinata took notice. 99.99% of the time it took hinata three to four business days to sometimes understand a lesson the teacher had taught. so for hinata to be weirded out it definitely had to be mad bizarre.
"can you like set normally? throw me a nice one, pretend mob is watching!" hinata not so whispered, which earned a ball to his face. "shut up, you idiot!"
incident two: k.(yn)
was it weird that you were starting to notice kageyama everywhere? it was almost like you were hyperaware of every little thing he did, and it was honestly kind of sort of freaking you out. Youβd pass back the papers your teacher would hand out, and kageyama would rather awkwardly take his paper, or youβd accidentally meet his eyes, and he wouldnβt bother to hide it, or he tried keyword tried, but heβd just turn into stone.
you were never good with feelings that was very obvious to anybody even yourself knew this. standing up about to walk out the door someone carelessly bumped into you, βhey kageyama, hinata!β your abdomen hit the door your eyes scrunched shut. β(name)! go give him a piece of your mind! stupid shortie!β dimple balled up his fist. βk-kageyama, are you ok?β someone walked over stopping feet away from you. opening your eyes they landed on kageyama tobio who looked nervous, hands shaking just a bit and a hard swallow indicated by his adamβs apple. βoh my goodness, I am so sorry! I shouldβve watched where I was going!β the short boy beside hinata spoke inching closer to tobio. tobio inched closer to you as you took a step back, he stopped. his hands awkwardly hovered in front of him. βare you ok, kageyama?β heat crept up your neck, βi-iβm fine,β
why was it him? again, always. βi can buy you a drink at the vending machine, ey?β nishinoyaβs stomach was elbowed by hinata who shot him a look. nishinoyaβs mouth formed into an βoβ. βkageyama over here is actually going to buy you a drink!β tobioβs head snapped to his upperclassmen, who sent him a wink. his already awkwardly placed hands twitched, looking back at you, "i-if you can't thatβ" your phone buzzed, swear dropped from your neck to your back. "i have to go." rigidly stepping out of the room, you loosened the tie around your neck, feeling the heat of your skin fan out. unaware of the chaos unfolding behind you.
dimple, who stayed behind watched the three boys in the room stare at the door. "is that mob? i'm assuming it is!" nishinoya patted tobio in the back, "she's cute, an awkward charm. the two of you are peas in a pod!" hinata huffed, "when you see kageyama you see what could've been a powerhouse athlete, but don't let the other kageyama near him he'll actually malfunction." that earned a slap in the back, "argh!" tobio was burning with embarassment which he couldn't pinpoint exactly why when nishinoya was the one that bumped into her. dimple's brows twitched upwards, a smirk plaguing his face. "did i say something wrong?" he muttered to himself, "yeah, probably scared her!" hinata laughed, earning another hit, but this time from nishinoya. "why'd you suggest the drink?!" spiraling Kageyama pulled on his hair. eyes casted at the door. "you didn't deny it though."
"i was about to!" nishinoya sighed, shrugging, "relax, it's not like you fumbled the bag." kageyama's eyes slanted, "i didn't fumble anything." his voice now sharp nishinoya and hinata eyed each other before slowly stepping out, "let's go."
watching his friends step out like they weren't the reason he had actually fumbled kageyama took a look at your desk, looking back at his own. his face wrinkled at the sight of a yellow post-it on his desk; he was sure that it wasn't there seconds ago. tue green booger floated beside him a mischievous grin on his face.
"loves milk," it read gently picking up the yellow paper he folded it and stuffed it in his school pants. "i hope so."
incident three: k. (yn)
the cartoon of milk rested on top of your desk, the precipitation dripping down the straw and staining your desk. looking around the class, you met eyes with hinata who smiled your way, nodding him off. you faced your seatmate in the back, who kept his head down. it seemed like he was more interested in the problem in front of him, credit to him, you struggled just a bit with that one. hanging your bag, you sat down, gently shaking the carton of milk, the crinkle of plastic bringing kageyama's attention to you. his hands gripped his desk tightly, leaning his head just a bit to get a clearer view.
pop!
the straw slipped through the foil, brining the carton to your lips, kageyama's breath caught. he watched you take a small sip, your shoulders slouched just a smidge, a satisfied nod possessed you. a simple, kageyama could say almost stupid actually, but his heart raced. feeling the small piece of paper under neath his hands, he smiled. yes, you definitely love milk.
did you like kageyama? you wondered i mean it took one interaction with tsubomi for you to like her and you did for a couple of...years. did, it captivated your tongue in a oddly sweat taste. it was obvious who put the milk on your desk, especially obvious when hinata came up to you after class, asking how your milk was.
"maybe you do?" teru looked over at you, "if you're asking, then you basically already know the answer to your question." looking back at him, your mouth twisted, almost unsure. βyou think so?β teru rolled his eyes, leaning in with a teasing grin. "my heart races, it's like i can feel my blood pump every time he's near." listening teru scooped your ice cream into his mouth. teru laughed, his shoulders bumping into you, a small smile crept on your face.
teru being teru stood up and messed with your hair. "maybe try this hairstyle! he'll come right up to you saying, (name) marry me!" now it was your turn to laugh a bit of bashfulness encapsulating you.
and right in front of you in the distance stood kageyama tobio, his shoe bag held in his hand tightly. why did it bother him seeing you with a guy the opposite of him? he leaned in so close to you, eating bits of your ice cream and you did nothing to stop him. he saw the blond pay you on his back, his eye twitched. with tobio you hesitated, froze up, never meeting eyes with him. he exhaled sharply, was it time to give up? it wasn't like he really tried anything, and did you even know it was him planting the milk on your desk? his shoulders slumped, a tear in his heart, it actually hurt to breathe.
incident four: k.t, karasuno volleyball team
"dude what is going on?" suga looked over to the slumped kageyama, it was painfully obvious that something wasn't right. set after set equaled miss after miss. a ball had even managed to hit kageyama square in the face. "break. let's all take a breather," daichi concluded his brows furrowed in worry, everyone spaced out but eyes didn't leave kageyama's. "are you ok?" suga's hand landed on his back in a comforting manner. "i am." kageyama answered, not full of bite or bark, just blank emotion. "we all know you're not." kageyama's mind flashed images of you and teru. how you let him take your ice cream, you let him lean in, laugh. and you smiled at him. his fingers curled, it seemed like a dark cloud had taken over the gym. "he looks like he's about to kill somebody." yamaguchi whispered, tobio's jaw tightened.
"i cant look up." the team looked at each other, but let him continue, "in class, her hair." suga and daichi looked at each other, soft frowns on their faces, "hair he touched, how she laughed when he touched it. how she let him lean in. but, it's not like i tried either." the milk all safe and anonymour, in his comfort zone. Should he have been more forward? "so youre voluntaryily loosing a game you haven't even played?" tsukishima stepped forward with his arms crossed, "that's not appropriate for a king, i say." surprised by the burst of encouragement kageyama had now looked up, "you're watching someone else take your place without even knowing if it belonged to you in the first place." tsukishima continued, eyes slanted, "what makes mob so special? why are you so drawn to her?"
kageyama stayed silent, his mind raced back.
"fight on, kageyama! pump it!" at first confused, honestly startled at the five men who he had now come to realize were the same age as him. but he saw you, form horrid, arms horribly in front of you, your steps uneven, it seemed with the insane amount of sweat you were pouring, you should have stopped, but you didn't. not yet. your legs one in front of the other in an attempt to keep up with the overexertion.
when you collapsed, right on him, you were exhausted; that was obvious. he remembered the sweat had caused your baby hairs to stick straight onto your head, your chest rapidly moving up and down. "she was terrible." kageyama shook his head, not paying attention to his teammates' expressions. "kageyama is terrible at running, bad form, horrible breathing technique, and possibly stamina." ennoshita looked over at tanaka with a confused look. "but, she didn't stop. even when she could barely stand still, she kept pushing." tanaka nodded at ennoshita who smiled back, "and recently i've seen her at her club, the wieghts too heavy for her to hold, even though they were just 10 pounds each." the sight of your hands shaking, almost falling from your chair because of the sheer weight. but you kept going, failed, tried again, still failed, but you kept going. "kageyama isn't good at a lot of things that i have noticed."
"how romantic...?" daichi whispered under his breath, "it makes me want to do better." nishinoya laughed, punching his back. "go get her then!" kageyama froze the weight of his words settling. did he just say that?
"it doesn't have to be perfect. just be yourself. you never know if you don't try." daichi smiled, kageyama nodded with a glint of determination in his eyes. his blue irises traveled to tsukishima who adjusted his glasses, but if you squinted, you could see a wave of hopefulness in his eyes. kageyama knew what to do.
final incident: k.t & k.(yn)
was it you or was the air in the classroom insanely hot? today was the day after talking to ritsu, teru, reigen, and dimple they had all come to the conclusion that you should confess. as horrible as that sounded, it was better to let the truth be out then hurting yourself over this situation. you were nervous running your hands up and down your uniform skirt. you have this in the bag! for sure!
the bell rang, you flinched, now holding onto the fabric of your skirt. you stood up faster than you had wanted, but so did the boy behind you. for a second, neither of you moved. tobio in his own shell shock from the synchronization, snapped out of it. "kageyama, please come with me." this is what he was here for. your breath caught but nodded, "i need to talk to you too." ignoring the thumbs up behind you tobio let you grab your things and lead the way. the walk was quiet, not in an awkward sense, like both of you knew what was coming. you recognized this route, just the same sidewalk where all your morning and afternoon training took place. tobio stopped, he turned to face you. "d-do you want to go first?" he didn't let you respond, "i didn't practice this, s-so don't my words." his eyes met yours his hands gently reached down to grab yours.
this was good you weren't pulling away did that mean the blond was out the picture? "the first time i met you, you were something else. you collapsed on me and it made me think why didn't you just stop?" he licked his lips, "and it was after that day i kept seeing you everywhere, and i know you felt it too." you nodded, "the milk?" you asked he shut his eyes, either in embarrassment or acknowledgment. "you knew?"
"you're the only other person i have seen drink milk regularly." tobio could dug himself a grave. "back to what i was saying. you never gave up, i'd catch glimpses of you during club activities and even though you'd fail you continued to give it your best and it motivated me." his hands tightened around yours, "i don't know how else to say it but, you make me want to do better." heat formed inside your stomach, your eeys winded while his closed, "i know we barely interact, but if you'd allow me to please. i don't want to watch from a distance any longer." he opened his eyes to meet yours sweat glistened on his forehead. your heart raced this was crazy, he could probably feel your pulse from just your hands. your hair started floating in blue light, swallowing your figure. his eyes widened, but his hands remained interlocked with yours. "kageyama, i don't want to lose you to someone else because i never left my own comfort zone."
"i would like that." your viens pulsed throughout your body. was this actually happening? "oh," he freed his hands from your grasp, hating the feeling of his empty hands, he quickly took out the milk carton from his bag. "please, accept my confession." he bowed his head, extending the drink out to you. you laughed, shoulders shaking, small tears pooled at the corners of your eyes. tobio looked up, your hair falling softly, his face flushed red. repeating yourself through laughs you accepted.
"i would love that, kageyama."
would this be cute as a continuation ?? the concept of two people who learn to come out of their shyness and just crossover material i love π₯Ή
NO DOUBT β no doubt they like you Β·.ΰΌ
⧽ mha main trio x pinkie pie reader. fluff, testing some things out lowkey.
β TODOROKI SHOTO
Since day one, you had always caught his attention, although at first it wasn't necessary in a good light. Shoto thought you were rather childish, your very vibrant pink curly hair, how you could somehow pull anything and everything out of it, don't get him started on your insane sweet tooth. He could have rolled his eyes at the sight of you pulling and eating sweets out of your hair.
"Isn't this exciting!? Are you guys excited? because I'm excited! Well, except for the time I went ahh, but you know!" You cleared up the air after he declared war, lightening the mood again. your smile wide, warm, welcoming, even throwing him a thumbs-up with a glint of determination in your eyes. From that day forward, he saw you were more than just a girl he had seen as childish. He saw just how easily you had broken through his ice; it seemed like you broke through the first race of the sports festival with ease. Cameras were all on you, and with that flashy quirk of yours, you had no problem taking over the sports festival with the hundreds of thousands of tricks up your sleeve.
"Just because you declared war on Midoriya earlier, that doesn't mean I'm going down without a fight!" Sticking your tongue out, you threw him a peace sign with a wink. He took a double-take. You weren't mad? And a fight you put up, pink blurred his line of vision, the sweet smell of sprinkles erasing any scent you carried. "Surprise!" An explosion sprinkles pushed him, pushed him hard. He had no time to register. He tried to catch himself, but the kick on his back knocked the air out of him. You giggled watching him struggle, your giggling came to an even louder octave when you were anounced winner of the battle.
"I'm so sorry, Todoroki! Do you feel better now?" His rugged self looked up and, with no hesitation, grabbed a hold of your extended hand. "You did really well! Ugh, you're so strong, my hands hurt!" You whined, walking out with his hand wrapped around your neck for support. "You're not mad?" Pausing your rant, you looked at him with a bemused expression. "Mad?" You thought for a second pursed lips. "Oh! If this is about what you said in the break room, then no. You actually inspired me to do my best!" You swore you saw his eyes brighten.
After the sports festival (and snatching second place), he was slowly realizing that your heart was as big as your smile. You welcomed him into your space; it didn't matter that he didn't bend over backwards to your silly antics, even if he lowkey did, he just didn't know how to. You were the star of his world, alive, beautiful, sweet. You never failed to cheer him up when it was needed. You allowed him to be in the same kitchen when you were trying out a new recipe or picking up minor notes he told you to include in your next creation.
He'd watch how you'd light up a room without trying to. Be it by cracking a joke or telling a personal story about how you basically blew up your aunt's bakery because of your quirk. He admired with his chin resting on his palm, eyes following your every move. He himself didn't pay attention to the beating of his chest, but he knew exactly what that beating was, and he knew exactly who was causing it. How could he not?
"Remember, when you said you were trying to be better about your protein intake?" A cheeky smile rose onto your face, and you urged him to come closer. "Ta-da!" Two cups with three scoops of ice cream stood on the table. "Protein ice cream with protein sprinkles crafted by your truly!" His breath caught inside his throat, "(Name)...I don't know what to say." Pulling him close, you laughed, "You don't have to say anything silly! Just try it and tell me what you think!" You shook in excitement, watching him grab the spoon and take a bite(?). Swishing the cold cream in his mouth, he nodded, you exploded your hair, taking over puffed up even more. "I'm so glad! I waited for AJ to give me her best dairy, and it all worked out!" You clapped, giggling to yourself. With the spoon still in his mouth, Shoto's eyes softened, analyzing your bright face.
"You did that?" His eyes stopped at your lips, "(Name)," he called out, and being the person you are, you looked back. "I love you." His eyes widened at his sudden confession.
"I love you too, Todoroki." His foot was all the way in, no backing out now. "Not likeβ"
He didn't get the chance to finish when he felt soft lips clash against his own. A quick peck, you pulled back,
"I love you too, Todoroki."
β BAKUGO KATSUKI
You always lingered in the back of Bakugo's mind. With similar quirks, he knew you were more than pink hair and party supplies. And you proved him right time after time. First was during the quirk apprehension test, second was during the USJ villain infiltration, and third was at the sports festival when you had kirked Todoroki earning second place. He was impressed you knew your quirk like the back of your hand.
"If you guys think about it. (Name) and Bakugo are basically like apples and oranges." Sero spoke up, catching both yours and the blonde's attention. "Wait, you're right." Kirishima agreed with a shake of his head. "Aww, that's cute!" Mina piped up, irking the blonde whose ears turned a slight shade of pink. "Cute?" Mineta asked with his hands thrown up in confusion, "(Name)'s actually nice and would never go for someone as brash as Bakugo." Mina pointed in agreement, "Hah!? We're still here!" Bakugo slammed his hands onto his desk, causing the group to flinch.
"No, I agree!" You brought the attention to yourself with a bright smile, and you looked at the four. "Similar quirks, we placed 1st and 2nd on the entrance exam and the sports festival! Aww, we're so in sync!" You clapped, adding a bounce in your step, "W-What? (Name), You can't possibly think Bakugo's a cutie!" Uraraka whisper-yelled from beside you, still acting like Bakugo wasn't in the same room. You looked at her in confusion, "But I do, we're so similar it's kind of hard to think we're a cute duo." You shrugged with another smile creeping up your face, "Plus, he also knows how to play the drums!"
"Mhm, has anyone seen a yellow drumstick?" Back in the dorms, you asked around, only getting shrugs and "sorry," which is not what you needed at the time. Your hair deflated with every answer you received that wasn't what you wanted. Being down in the gutter, you weren't watching where you were going, and you accidentally bumped into something or someone. "Sorry," Your dull blue eyes clashed with vibrant and obviously confused red ones. "Did you change your hairstyle or something?" He asked, tilting his head to this side with a quirk of his brows. "I wish." You blew the singular straight strand out of your face. "It won't hurt to ask, but have you seen a yellow drumstick? Pleasesayyes!" Your hands clenched in fists, clear of your doubts. "You play drums?" Now with a hand on his hips, "That's not what I asked, silly." Your eyes glared at his own; he sighed. "Sorry," In a sarcastic tone, he rolled his eyes, "Follow me." Shaking your head in diassapointment you unwillingly followed. "I have nothing left to lose."
Moving the hard candy side-to-side inside your mouth, you stopped playing with it when you realized. "No one's been in your room, right?" Bakugo stopped too; he slowly turned around. He wasn't going to admit he highkey hated seeing your straight hair. He hated how he hadn't heard you laugh up a storm in the past hour or so. "D-don't make this a big deal." Opposite of slow, he turned as if there was no tomorrow. He huffed away the knot in his throat, "If you make a mess, I'll kill you." Your hair curled at the end, it was almost like you forgot about what you were sad about. Letting you into his room, your eyes immediately widened as quick as a firework, your hair curled. Catching the blond off guard, his cough covered up his laugh.
"Bakugo! No way you play the drums too!" Rushing to the instrument you looked up, "Can I?" Slapping his foot gently against the carpet, he smirked, "Go ahead, party canon." The drum sticks manuvered inbetween your fingers, you added a spin before slamming the sticks on the drum. You moved with such intensity that it left Bakugo in a trance with his arms flopping to his side in shock, his mouth slightly agape. It was like a pink glow engulfed your body, your hair thickened and grew in length. With a spin on your heel, you slammed both sticks, catching your breath, your hair lifting in dishovel. "This! Bakugo, you're the best!" It seemed like flowers bloomed behind Bakugo, followed by fireworks exploding, his heart ruptured in sound.
Skipping up to him, you grabbed his hands. Yours warm against his slightly sweaty ones. "Thank you for cheering me up! Honestly, I don't know how to repay you!" Snapped from his trance, Bakugo examined your face. You seemed lost in thought, about to voice something out loud, but you stopped midway, your eyes caught his lingering stare, he watched your lips twitch. His eyes now met yours, "Can I?" His hand cupped yours, slowly leaning in. Your lips met his first, a slow, sweet kiss. He pulled back with a loopy grin, piecing together what just happened. Your quirk activated a splash of pink, and sprinkles littered the room. You looked at him with a nervous smile. He sighed, "I-I don't care," looking at the mess before mumbling, "Just...come here." With a soft pull of your arms, your lips crashed into his once more.
"What!?" Mina gawked, "No way that's all it takes, (Name)!" You laughed, scratching your head, your neck feeling hot at the thought. "Did you ever find your drumstick?" Midoriya asked, looking at your standing form. "Bakugo gave me one of his spares." You winked sneding him a thumbs up. "Come on, party canon." The class watched your cheeky self get dragged out the door by the blushing blonde. "Bye, guys!"
"No way! No way!"
"He was blushing!"
"Guys shhhh! We'll get kirked out!"
You giggled at your friends who were left gawking. "You talk too much." Bakugo grumbeled letting go of your arm. "Whatttt, no I don't." You looked off to the side, whistling. The baddie on your side just shook his head. "It's ok because you love me." You poked his cheek,
"Mmm, you're right." He turned, looking at you with a smile.
β MIDORIYA IZUKU
I wouldn't put it past him to have started crushing since day one, lowkey. More like you offered him a candy bar from your hair because you caught him looking at you, and like the party planner you are, just pulled out a candy bar from your hair, sending a wink his way, and putting a finger over your mouth to keep him quiet. "I guess you could say Bakugo and I have similar quirks." You hummed while cutting a piece of your cake, "I do have hundreds of tricks up my sleeve. So don't worry too much about me in the finals." You leaned into him, lifting the corners of his mouth in a forced smile.
"Pinkie (Name), who placed second on the entrance exam, and Bakugo Katsuki, who placed first! I'm excited to see how this plays out!" Izuku's eyes moved over to you, who was stretching. "I hope she wipes the floor with him." Kaminari leaned forward in his seat, getting a better view of the battlefield. "Dude?" Kirishima gave him a worried look. "What? This is Pinkie we're talking about!" Kaminari stood up, "Clean the floor with him!" Izuku's eyes shifted back at your enthusiastic reaction to the bleachers, a sour taste imprinted on his mouth. His eyes widened quickly. Was this jealousy?
Midnight allowed the battle to commence, and you moved. With every explosion Bakugo tried to send your way, you flipped and danced your way out of it, a laugh evident on your face when the cameras managed to get an angle of you. Your playful steps washed Izuku in relief, and when your quirk went off, the multicolored explosions sparkled before they vanished, leaving the scent of sugar lingering in the air. Beautiful, enticing is what you are, Izuku swore he could hear your laughter vibrate inside his ears. Your cotton candy-like hair fanned out with bits of debris and glitter inbetween each curl. Izuku warmed at the sight, "The agility and momentum. Kachaan might..." Izuku now stood up, "Here it goes!" He heard your voice; his hand gripped the rail.
Your last move shot up in the air like a giant firework. Loud and flashy enough to distract your blond opponent. Dissappearing into the air, a kick to his chest, and Bakugo was out of bounds. Your classmates and the crowd bursted in cheer. Like the rainboom you are, you jumped in the air and gave a bow of gratitude towards the crowd. "She did it!" Kaminari pumped his hands up. You turned to the stands, one foot propped up in happiness, and with a wide smile, your eyes landed on Izuku. Your chest rose, trying to catch your breath, and sweat dripped from the sides of your head. Lifting your arm up, you extended it out, giving him a thumbs up, your tongue playfully in between your teeth, and with another wink sent his way. His heart echoed inside his chest. Just like on the first day of school, his hand rested on top of his heart. He watched your face relax into a soft, tired smile before waving off to Bakugo, who came to greet you.
"She's amazing," The images of your performance replayed in his head, "Really amazing." His heart pounded so loud he swore he could feel it in his ear. Oh, he's cooked.
