IMPORTANT

I’ll be going into a 5 day long hiatus starting on the 21st. I’m going to summer camp and I won’t be allowed to use my phone. The hiatus will last until I leave on the 25th. So I won’t be posting anything on here during that time.

Honestly I think that ships like Skullbashers and Pickpockets enhances the themes of found family in really nice ways. In such a cruel and unforgiving setting, the trio still managed to find something as beautiful as love.

Same with Roadkill. Two childhood friends realizing they love each other shows how far their bond has progressed, and it makes Dimitri’s inevitable departure all the more sad.

Here are my thoughts on Jax.

I don’t think having his backstory explained necessarily means he’s forgiven. It gives us a look into his head and gives context to all the bad things he’s done, but it doesn’t excuse them. He still caused his best friend to abstract, whether he meant for it to happen or not.

I can think that there’s a part of him that doesn’t want him to be a jerk, but he never gets the chance to improve himself because of all of his insecurities. The last time he showed any genuine emotion (which was towards his mother), it ended with him thinking he killed her. There are moments where he feels bad about what he did, but the other parts of his mind try to overshadow those moments of what he sees as being pathetic or stupid.

If he ever does unabstract, I don’t think everyone is going to immediately forgive him. I think it’ll be like with Caine where they gradually forgave him as he improved. Jax has the potential to be a good person, and only now does he have the means to become one.
