From this peaceful city lit by warm lights, a single shadow stood out, as if it had been cast out.

It was so small that no one paid it any attention… but the “moon” overlooking the bustle of this city seemed to watch over that shadow forever and ever."

yaaaaaaa ive been drawin this for days after watching a sonadow iceberg video. upon being inspired by both the story and some artwork, i decided to throw my hat into the ring. idk im not SUPER happy with it— theres obvious flaws and things i should do better in the future......... but its fine. just fine lol ... who knew drawing SPIKES FROM BEHIND FUCKIN SUCKS? i considered not posting this, and also, PERSPECTIVE IS THE DEVIL, but i decided fuck it man we ball

so ya. i love them and this was gay as hell <3 im so sad i got into sonic so late bro................... i used that one drawing where shadow is in front of the moon as HEAVY reference for what i drew. which... u can tell, lol. but i wanted to draw a different ARK and change its position to being in front of the moon (sonic is the moon, shadow is the ark, blah blah blah) heres the timelapse— its super embarrassing ;;;;;;; im so fuckin messy and dont draw properly im not professional at all AND this is the first file ive ever had where the ENTIRE timelapse of just recorded strokes is 30 minutes long. ya... no. we're not posting that. heres a 30 second summed version instead.

Gale in Act I.

After almost a year and a half of on-and-off work, I am delighted to say that camp Gale is DONE!

The tunic took the longest for obvious reasons, featuring nearly 200 hours of hand embroidery and detail stitching on the cuffs, collar, and hem. I'm so proud of how I managed to match the embroidery at the seams so there is no interruption in the pattern at any point.

The belt is actually my favourite piece of this cosplay. I delved into metal embossing for the first time to make the aluminium tiles, and I adore how the tarnish effect turned out. I used leather paint on the base belt for the proper mottled effect, and did more tiny hand stitching on the borders.

For the trousers, I chose to depart from my usual 'stickler for canon accuracy' mindset when I found the purple fabric - primarily because the pattern within the gold outlines matches the shapes of the tunic embroidery, while still preserving the 'veined leaf' feel of the in-game trousers. Doing the detail stitching between fabrics was by far my least favourite part of this cosplay process - another 23 hours of hand sewing with cording - but I pushed through!

The shoes I thrifted and then modified almost to unrecognisability - I leather painted both the suede and soles, added the binding and stitching around the top, and then embossed a whole lot of tiny aluminium shapes to glue on for the proper adornments.

I'm so glad I took my time with this cosplay, it's been such a passion project; an expression of love for a character who's come to mean so much to me. I'm very excited to wear this outfit for the first time at Katsucon in a few weeks, and I'm hoping to get some really excellent photos in the near future. Thank you to everyone who's commented and cheered me on during this lengthy but rewarding endeavour!

elixir of peerless focus—

this piece isnt like my usual art. ive been struggling to find a reason for why i draw at all, and i feel like ive lost the reason i make art in the first place. none of my drawings inspire emotion in me anymore, and if they do, its only frustration at my lack of ability. all of the art/artists i adore cause me to feel great emotion. art is inherently an expression of the self. ive felt empty regarding my art for years now, and dont remember the last time i was proud of something. so, this was an attempt to create something that visualized how i see gale as a character. where he's alone, in solitude despite his circumstances, surrounded by the beauty of nature. i dont know— when i think of gale, i think of this. and that made me feel something.

i started this at 4 am and drew until 7 pm, i forgot to put on the timelapse, my apologies for most of the background being missing from it.
