Cuddled up next to jake in bed on a cold morning, he’s on his back and you’re on your side pressed up against him as tight as you can manage, halfway lying on top of him and your legs tangled together. His hand rubbing gentle circles into your lower back. Your fingers absentmindedly drawing shapes on his bare chest, making detours to his perfectly supple stomach and his neck and face. Tickling over his stubbly mustache as he tells you some goofy story from his week. You say something silly and he laughs, a full, deep belly laugh that almost pushes you off of him. You giggle with him, but become distracted by his flawless side profile. The way his lip curls away from his teeth, the elegant prominence of his nose, the softness of his chin and jaw, and the way his eyes crinkle with carefree joy. He notices how quiet you suddenly became, and turns his head to face you and ask what’s wrong. You shyly mumble that it’s nothing, you just were admiring how beautiful he is. Jake blushes furiously at that, thanking you bashfully, and you respond by pressing gentle kisses to his shoulder, moving them along to his now bright red upper chest. You move your body so you’re hovering over him, your kisses migrating to his neck. Jake’s hands are still sliding up and down your back, until they stop and pull you forcefully down on top of him, pushing the air out of your lungs as you huff out a surprised squeal. He wraps his arms right around you and hugs you close as you continue your trail of kisses now with your face pressed in the crook of his neck. Soon you pick your head back up to give him one more kiss on his lips and then lay your head down on his chest, content to doze off to the sound of his heart, knowing it beats in time with your own.
