I love giants that are maybe a little mean and love to tease their tiny. They love to see them all frightened and skittish and they think it's adorable. But then the giant does something to accidentally hurt the tiny, and they are a 𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘴. Crying apologizing, blaming themselves. The guilt is insane. And the tiny is 𝘴𝘰 confused, because just moments ago, the giant was dangling them over their face threatening to eat them. And now suddenly they're sobbing because the tiny is hurt? The whiplash would go crazy
I think people underestimate just how terrifying being a tiny would be.
Have you ever been around someone a little taller than you, and you got a bit intimidated?
Now imagine that, times a hundred.
Hands, the size of your body. A head that blots out the light above you. A mouth that could bite you in half like a carrot. Arms and legs as long as skyscrapers.
And if you're on the ground when they're standing? Their head reaches up to the sky, perhaps even the clouds. A single misplaced step? You're a goner.
They could cause so much destruction, so much harm, and not mean to or even notice.

...Anyways this is my formal proposal for more slowburn g/t because of how much time it would take for the tiny to trust the giant because of how massive they are. I rest my case.
Complete weak mess when it comes to writing g/t with just trust a tiny had to give to a giant to not hurt them.
The trust it takes to let someone literally hold your life in their hands.
As well as the feelings when that trust is broken and the tiny suddenly feels trapped in the same hands that once cradled them
Even if the Giant could never bring themselves to actually hurt the tiny, they've betrayed the tiny's trust in some way. That's something you can't shake. Trust is fragile when you're whole body is. When all it takes is a good enough pressure and you're dead. When the giant or their pets can just swallow you whole. How can you feel safe when they lie to you? Or if they hurt those close to you. They say they won't hurt you, but you can't help but wonder how long until they get bored of you?

Getting caught in one of those little bug-catching nets by a child.
Getting taken home and made to play dress up like a doll by a child that doesn't understand you're anything more than a bug or a toy.
Maybe that's the worst, but maybe the kid shows you to their parent. Maybe the parent is a scientist or perhaps just an enthusiast of the fae.
Maybe they've seen lots of little fairies like you before— they know you're harmless and also that you can't do anything to free yourself.
They're done with their research— they finished it about three fairies back. Now, the only purpose they have for you is to add you to their collection of pinned fae.
They do it the same way an etymologist would do with a bug, with a pin straight through the body and then several more to create a type of restraints, pinching limbs in place near joints and keeping them from moving...
