My latest project was to create a manifesto for myself. My “rules” of good graphic design. I decided on a simple box shape to link to branding and packaging because I’m obsessed with it. BEHOLD, a graphic guide to stacysuiga.

Our latest group project was to interview a third year Graphic Design student and create 10 objects to represent them. A traditional chinese paper cut links to the origins of our interviewee. It is cut in the shape of a green t shirt to reflect the fact that her favourite drink is green tea. When talking about holidays, birthdays etc, she said that she just "hates the hype". Her favourite supermarket was Waitrose, so I used the Waitrose font the cut "hate the hype" into the design. The overall design is inspired by one of her favourite artists, Matt Jacobs, who uses watercolours to create simple lines.

I recently received my first Uni brief. We had to create 3D letterform using the first letter of our last name and use materials that expressed our personality.

I went back to my roots and questioned why I wanted to be a graphic designer in the first place. My first memory trailing is the supermarket with my mum and admiring and comparing food packaging – even though I didn’t even know what graphic design was back then!

The basis of the A is created from a standard Weetabix box. After asking a varied amount of people what words they would use to describe me as, the word which I heard the most was “JaffaCakes”.  An interesting way to describe a person, but it makes sense as I received nearly 200 Jaffa Cakes for my birthday…

Jaffa cake obsessed, I began to use food packaging to decorate my “A”. Using brands that I admire and that I’ve previously researched, including Coca Cola, McDonald’s and of course, Jaffa Cakes.

I had to present my ‘A’ to my new peers. I really enjoyed the first brief, it’s always interesting to have a “hands on” project.
