Romionarry is Ron-centered. Both Hermione and Harry are so in love with, and obsessed with, Ron. They love each other just as much too, but Ron is just...Ron. They wouldn't trade him for the world, nor want someone other than him.

James lives au, but wasn’t able to raise or get closer to Harry (for whatever reasons), and is trying to rekindle his relationship with his now 17-year-old child.

They go on a cute little father-son (or daughter) outing, maybe at a restaurant or park (like a picnic perhaps?), and are both so awkward. They have no idea what to talk about or where to even start, so James is just over there with an awkward smile, running his fingers through his hair and messing it up, while Harry is just nodding and flattening his hair down. Both are adjusting/fixing their glasses from time to time (If Sirius is alive, then he's hiding out in the background watching them, dying on the inside from noticing how similar yet different they are to each other).

They eventually get a conversation going and are laughing and having a good time…until Snape gets mentioned somewhere in there, and now the moment is ruined and a little heated. James obviously still doesn't like Snape and is insulting him, and Harry's not having it, thinking that James didn't even really know Snape in the end, so who was he to talk about him that way. James is so baffled by this revelation and doesn't know what to do or think. It's just, all in all, not going great anymore, and Harry ends up walking away.

It's not a "pedo" ship if both characters are (canonically) the same age. You all have seriously got to stop throwing around words you don't really understand for things you personally don't like to make them seem more "problematic" than what they actually are. Literally, any time you people see a ship you don't like, it's always just "this is incest" (to the non-related characters, mind you) because you personally see them as siblings, so everyone must, and it's disgusting to ship them. It's "pedophilia" because there's a bit of an age gap you don't like (regardless of if they're adults), or you infantilize the hell out of the characters, so seeing them in a relationship just feels wrong to you personally and no one should ship them, etc., etc.

I get that you (HP)Marauder fans have this sickness where you think everything revolves around you, is about and for you, and you delude yourselves into believing that these characters (corpses) have actually lived long, fulfilling lives, so you can go crazy and say "screw canon" and ship them together, but they haven't. Wake up to the reality of it all and realize that Regulus Black never reached that milestone to adulthood, and he never will. He died at 17 in canon, and he will stay as such. All those fics and content you make about James blowing his back out involve a canonically 17-year-old boy who is simply aged up so it doesn't look weird. James is an adult, Lily is an adult, Sirius is an adult, all these other characters are grown in canon, so that type of stuff is whatever, but Regulus is not. If he were alive, he'd be like 1-2 years younger than James, but with him being dead, he's the same age as Harry or like 1 year older (excluding the epilogue).

If I want to use that canon material to keep him the same age so that he's not in some big age-gap relationship with Harry, then I will. I'm simply using and adding onto what is already given to us. Time travel isn’t even needed for all the "if you need time travel to make a ship work, then you shouldn't ship it," because you can just use the "frozen in time" trope I've mentioned plenty (that being a younger person who is actually really like 100+ but was somehow kept in the exact same state over the years and never grew physically or mentally) that is fairly popular, with many big ships coming from it (Kataang from Avatar, Delena or Stelena or Klaroline from TVD, and literally every couple on that show tbh, Bella x Edward from Twilight, and the list goes on).

It's funny seeing people get so offended and disgusted with Regulus x Harry when it's honestly not even that bad, as let's say, Sirius x Harry, Hermione x Snape, or any Marauder era character x Golden era character. Those have toxic and "problematic" themes/dynamics because of the age gap, their relationships to said characters, and the active participation in their lives (being teachers, guardians, yada yada).

Regulus isn't an adult. He never was, and he never will be. He died at 16-17. He has absolutely no recognition of, or connection to, any of the Golden era children because he died before he could ever meet them or before they were ever conceived. He is a "frozen in time" character. So there is nothing really problematic with Regharry or Regulus x any Golden era character (unless someone wants to make it so).

I mean, just think of all the pieces of media where a character is chronologically like 100+ years old but looks and acts like a kid/teen because they were frozen in time, preserved, or whatever (it's literally any vampire romance fantasy you can think of, or even "Avatar: The Last Airbender" with my favorite ship, Kataang). This is mostly how these ships with Regulus operate. He's either made stuck in time or preserved rather than being dead or dying, or he's brought back to life at the same age that he died.

I get that people like to age Regulus up so he can be with James, or age James down, or whatever, but canonically James is forever 21 and Regulus is forever 17 (both corpses, btw, lmao). Do you ship said 21-year-old and 17-year-old together? No, you turn the clock to change things around so they're around the same age again, and it's not weird. The same thing the other shippers are doing, you're not so different in that.

(but also, canonically, Harry is like 30 to 40 something years old now, while Regulus is still just 17…so maybe that's the real issue here?)

The Potters and Betrayal

James being betrayed by Peter, a longtime friend he trusted, and killed by Voldemort, with Harry almost dying by him too.

Harry being betrayed by Moody (Barty Crouch Jr.), someone he was starting to really trust, and almost killed by Voldemort, and then almost killed by Barty himself.

Albus Severus being betrayed by Delphini, someone he was starting to trust and grow fond of, and has time rewritten so that Harry is actually killed by Voldemort, and Albus himself ceases to exist.

Chronically ill Harry, where instead of the killing curse giving him abilities or anything special, it just gives him a chronic illness that's slowly killing him from the inside.

James and/or Lily lived, and there are no Horcruxes, so Voldemort is completely dead. If both James and Lily lived, then they raise Harry with all the love they can give him and end up having another kid. If it's just one of them, then it's the same, just no other kids (unless one of them remarries?). They don't find out about Harry's illness until he uses accidental magic for the first time. That's when the signs start showing up, and it really starts taking a toll on his body. Every time he uses magic, or too much of it at least, his body gets weaker, and he gets sicker.

Harry has been taken to all types of specialists and healers, but no one can really figure out what's wrong, since it's never been heard of before (no one has ever survived a killing curse, they don't understand what's killing him exactly). James and/or Lily are going crazy trying to find a way to save their baby, but nothing is coming up. And while all this is happening, Harry is slowly but surely starting to accept his walk with death, so he wants to just be free and spend all his time with his loved ones instead of worrying about what he believes to be the inevitable.

James who lives and raises Harry, but has a physical impairment and is so mentally unstable, that he wants Harry with him at all times and struggles at even the thought of him leaving him. He almost doesn't even let Harry go to Hogwarts, until Dumbledore came in and said he should send him, and he reluctantly let him go.

They end up developing a very unhealthy bond/dynamic, and becoming very codependent on each other. James is prone to breakdowns and not speaking, so Harry really takes care of him a lot. Harry has panic attacks about leaving his dad because the thought of him being all alone with no one to anchor him as he has one of his episodes, scares Harry.

Now add Sirius to the mix, they're all mentally unwell. Though, James and Sirius start connecting again, it's not the same as it once was. James' mind is just so screwed (from whatever dark curse hit him), that something there is keeping him from fully trusting Sirius again or letting his guard down around him completely. At times he even struggles with seeing Harry and Sirius together, and would prefer to have Harry beside him instead.

The way top!Harry is written in Drarry fics is truly something else. Why is he always so aggressive, and two seconds away from getting an assault charge whenever a guy is anywhere near Draco?

He's definitely no sunshiny sweetheart, but he's also not a violent psycho. It's spooky, sometimes I feel like even Draco in Dramione fics is somewhat better than him because at least he doesn't come off like he's about to hit/assault the next person he encounters.

Harry is tall, big and typically brown now, with bulging muscles and rock hard abs, and he's about to knock the heads clean off of anyone who dares look at his precious little slim jim twink.....who even is that??😭😭😭😭
