The Society Cast Takes a Road Trip
Alice Notley, from Alma, or The Dead Women: Poems; “Glued To Our Bodies,”
james can speak french bc euphemia insisted he learned at a young age
nice
wow i love kat n i’s collective canon
james ruined snape’s fifth year, what a Dick
I’m not really sure why. But… do you stop loving someone just because they betray you? I don’t think so. That’s what makes the betrayal hurt so much - pain, frustration, anger… and I still loved [them.] I still do.
(via changeofheavrt)
james’ voice claim . . . . . . yes
while i’m discussing the potters . let’s talk about how badass euphemia and fleamont are . fleamont is an INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED potioneer . u can’t tell me his influence in the area of potions is limited solely to cosmetics and sleekeazy, this guy had DEFINITELY helped make huge strides in that field . consider : potions is directly paralleled to chemistry, so imagine fleamont making some huge discovery at one point or another or contributing to something major that his partner at the time ripped off the credit that was rightly fleamont’s . he’s a direct descendant of the gd peverells . he literally fought people at hogwarts who made fun of his name just to defend his deceased grandmother . monty potter died protecting his niece mary from a curse ( because canon can choke and i say so ) . his father, henry, was such an advocate for the muggleborn community that he caused a scandal !! fleamont being any less iconic ? doubt it . the most patient, goofy, driven, passionate man .
AND MIA POTTER . miss euphemia royer . beautiful intelligent french pureblood angel . the best lady in the whole wizarding world . marrying into the potter family instantly gained her some notoriety and eyes were always on her, and she owned it !! her mental and physical health were never the steadiest things on the planet and she suffered with both sorts of illnesses until the day she died, but she always always always had a smile on her face . always knew just how to light up a room or command your attention with a story or joke . tender regardless of everything thrown her way . was literally !!! bombarded with reporters following her sisters’ death who attempted to implicate her and fleamont for having some sort of hand in it !!! while her sister and husband were these voices increasing in volume in support of muggleborns, mia was the one looking out for all of their families !!! constantly on the defense and fending off accusations and !!!! whew !!

ur daily reminder that james’ life was constantly defined by the war, like he had very few years that weren’t tainted by it and his death ends up being romanticized into this big glorious thing that puts him on a pedestal that no child should ever be put on!!! he’s this massive figure in the first war and in history and it’s SAD
ok but more on the whole ‘glory’ thing . consider : the wizarding world rejoicing in the night that voldemort died, and their death and the gravity of it all getting lost in the midst of that relief. the entire wizarding world can breathe again and the people james and lily were get muddled by all these contrasting stories when the people that actually knew them are dead. like there’s no one to speak on their behalf and while what they did for harry is HUGE and they were willing to sacrifice themselves for the betterment of the wizarding world, in that single moment it was all for harry -- like you can’t tell me that in that moment they knew the repercussions their choices that night would have, because they were so focused on protecting each other!!! they didn’t die to get their names in the history books or a statue in their honor, they didn’t ASK to be idealized or enshrined, they were literally just these barely-adults trying to save their family
ur daily reminder that james’ life was constantly defined by the war, like he had very few years that weren’t tainted by it and his death ends up being romanticized into this big glorious thing that puts him on a pedestal that no child should ever be put on!!! he’s this massive figure in the first war and in history and it’s SAD
good morn i’m alive and was struck with muse so maybe after work i’ll write u all smth on the potters
1960 –––––– 1981 . g o n e , i say and walk from church , refusing the stiff procession to the 𝖌𝖗𝖆𝖛𝖊 , letting the dead ride alone in the hearse . it is june . 𝙞 𝙖𝙢 𝙩𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙚 . we drive to the cape . i cultivate myself where the sun gutters from the sky , where the sea swings in like an iron gate and we touch . in another country people die .
i’m alive but at what Cost
i haven’t made james’ doc yet but consider this a mains/excl call
royer is marlene’s mother’s maiden name. the royer line is where the tradition of sister rings comes from. mars mom (eugenia) is the younger sister of euphemia potter (nee royer), aka james potter’s mother. royer = wheel in french. they trace their routes back to the south of france, where descendants of the royer line still live. mary mckinnon becomes marie royer after the first wizarding war, when she is hidden to france.
the family line emphasizes the bonds between women in the family very strongly. each daughter is given a ring when they first begin their wizarding education (entering hogwarts/beauxbatons). the same ring is given to each sister of the generation. the heartbeats of each sister beat through the rings. melanie mary and marlene share deep red ruby rings, mia & gene’s are emerald and topaz, and their mothers’ is yellow citrine.
ehehe
