Hio Castle

Away from prying eyes stands the large, traditional Hio Castle. The castle is large, and filled with sakura trees, while various wards protect against certain unwanted visitors.

The castle itself contains a crypt beneath, sealed off with blood magic and accessible only to those with Hio blood running through their veins : it’s there that the family turns for their ancient slumber. Meanwhile, an otherwise locked off building which can be accessed either by family or servants who contain the correct enchantment to bypass the wards, is dedicated for those who simply wish to rest for a few hundred years.

Considering the size of the castle, you’d think a handful of servants too few, but considering all these servants are level B and C vampires their efficiency is not little. None of these servants show themselves before guests when they are not serving them, nor do they speak when they are required to make an appearance. They will not meet the eyes of their masters or the castle’s guests. They are housed in a separate building which has been decorated to house all the servants.

The castle is surrounded by a glorious garden, compiled mostly of the pink petals on the soft grass, and the large amount of teas they have fallen from. It is rather a favorite spot of Shizuka’s to enjoy her tea. Her tea table is always out when it is dry, a single seat always present, so she may rest there whenever her whim calls her to. For the days where the weather is less pleasant, either too hold or too wet, there is an inner garden at the ground floor. This one comes with a pond and many pink and white flowers.

There are quarters which are sealed off even further: behind the painting Shizuka had made of a field filled with Arabian Jasmines, lay Eiri’s quarters : a living area separated from the rest area by a sliding door. Only those of Hio blood can enter these, or those touching a Hio as they enter. The wards surrounding these rooms are set to block the aura of any who ventures inside. An excellent little hiding place of which the threshold is one not even the servants may cross. The ones who will try to force their way in will perish on the spot as a result of the intricate wards laid out by Hikaru Hio : an expert in defensive wards and blood magic.
