Ūropi, also known by its indigenous name “Europe”, meaning “wide-gazing” or “broad of aspect”, is a small continent first discovered in 1806 by Moehanga of Ngāpuhi, although indigenous Europeans had been living there for many thousands of years. Modern researchers believe the indigenous Europeans originally migrated from the Middle East, and over time split into separate tribes or “kingdoms,” with many retaining their ancient rangatira (called “monarchs” or “nobility”) to this day.

While many see Ūropi as timeless and exotic, indigenous Europeans have actually adapted well to the modern economy, often exporting cultural products like baguettes and vodka, the former of which may be recognisable as the basis for bánh mì.

Everybody ready for my most cursed Discworld theory? Brace yourselves:

Nobby Nobbs is a Hobbit.

Evidence: All those jokes about not thinking he's human, he has a signed note from the Patrician saying he is, etc.

He disappears easily and turns up in unexpected places.

Known for making small items of value disappear.

Is shorter than average, I believe he's compared to one of the dwarves at one point.

Enjoys folk dancing.

Anyway, hobbits are the only "fantasy" race that don't appear on the Discworld at all (though a Gollum-like creature does interact with the witches at one point). I'm sure it's because the word is still firmly under copywrite.

But Nobby Nobbs being a hobbit is super funny when you think about it.

Honestly, platform heels are absolutely not my favourite thing to wear for pole, but they are deeply connected to the history and modern context of pole. And if by wearing them I can show some people that it’s OK to not fit the “standard” template of masculinity or femininity, then that’s worth a bit of extra effort!

having thought about it this is a generationally anti-consumer announcement that will have a profoundly detrimental impact on consumers and retail markets. this will price out new consumers even more than a $600 PS5 and $80 games will. this will make games less accessible and more nickel-and-dimed. this will make games impossible to share irl without giving your console up, and will stop institutions like libraries from being able to loan copies of modern games. and most importantly, it will be for a minimal profit, as most of the sales in video games are already digital.

this is such a staggeringly catastrophic piece of news that i'm shocked it wasn't said by nintendo. congrats to sony for one-upping them in anti-consumer practices.

sony were found to be tampering with their own sales numbers to justify this reasoning. May be common knowledge for anyone in the loop and invested in the situation but it probably isn't for people who don't know!

digital sales are actually the minority when it comes to play stations sales figures. this is 100% a push for a monopoly, curbing the second-hand market so they can make more money, isolate consumers from owning their own products, and probably also harvest more user data to train algorithms on and sell to other people if i had to be a doomer about things and guess

continuing my rewatch of dbda and wow it is CRAZY just how badly the cat king fucks himself over. catastrophic moves. sees edwin platonically domming his best friend and goes yeah I want him Bad.
