Owen jumps when the woman jumps, not meaning to have startled her. He happened to see the door slightly ajar and had poked his head in hopes of finding someone who might be able to point him in the right direction. He’s dressed in a suit, a rarity for him but the suit Claire had helped him get has proven to be useful for more than just dates. He smooths his tie as he looks down at the paper in his hand then at the woman.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you—And I’m not here for office hours either,” With a pause, he tucks to paper in his pocket and offers the woman his hand. “I’m Owen Grady, I’m supposed to be giving a guest lecture for one of the geobiology classes here and I’ve gotten a little turned around. Is there any chance you could help me find 347A?”
She’s been startled by worse things and certainly worse people ( every moment in germany ) and he....is clearly benign. ‘ No - it’s fine, really. ’ Even better with it not being related to her. Lucy takes his hand, corners of her lips finally tugging up into a smile.
‘ Lucy Preston, professor. And if you’re looking for geobiology you’re on the wrong side of the quad. ’ She retracts her hand before gesturing absently at what she hopes is in the right direction ( it’s diagonal from the building. but that’s from the front and they’re somewhere in the middle and to the right? it doesn’t matter ). ‘ You’re not that far off. And yes, I can help. ’ there are worse ways to waste time.
