i think this one is quite a bit more entertaining than the last one but you are now legally obligated to tell me yourself
magik is a corrosive substance that can be utilized once it enters into the body
it begins to decay the limbs, specifically noticeable in the fingers, toes, and area around the eyes (for drakon, this can also decay horns and wings beneath feathers)
these areas become discolored, normally black, and begin to atrophy and decay. in serious situations, this leads to blindness, numbness in affected areas, and even loss of limbs at a certain point.
magik produces keratin when it is used, lengthening hair and nails
in high axocharians, dragonkin, and drakons, this leads to horn growth as well.
most humans use scionship, or dedicating oneself to a god to access magik
certain species have a natural affinity for magik (high axocharians, dragons, and dragonkin), meaning that they do not experience the typical decay (high axocharians experience the discoloration and nail/ horn growth but not the numbness/ atrophy/ other symptoms) and in rare scenarios, they may even be born with magik in their blood. this is considered a genetic mutation, triggered by the use of magik by a mother while pregnant, similarly to how smoking/ drinking can cause problems for a baby in the modern world.
human children born with magik rarely live past the age of 10, their weakener immune systems allowing the magik to spread and stop the heart without the child actually using the magik.
if a child within the previously mentioned species with less vulnerability to magik poisoning is born with this mutation, then the magik will likely work its way out of the childās system before they can begin to learn to use it. (in this case, the magik is like a sourdough starter. you feed it by doing magik. you donāt feed it? it dies.)
iām going to briefly cover magik infused relics and runes, and iāll clarify more if that seems like something people might enjoy. magik infused items revolve around axauk (translating to dragon stone or dragon gem), an expensive ore mined in the northern mountains that is essentially pure magik. when placed in a sword/ other weapon/ talisman/ whatever, the magik is activated with runes carved into them by specially trained mages in the north. thatās an excellent topic switcher. runemaking is essentially a lost art, only practiced by few mages who base their entire lives on memorizing these symbols and constructing them to serve whatever purpose. itās like trying to learn mandarin but the only time youāve ever heard it is in crazy rich asians and you also need to know how to write (this is way too niche i fear). runes only work when activated with magik.
letās backtrack. the gods.
axocharās worship system is pretty simple. you need to picture a pyramid diagram ok??
at the very top is Achbat, the deity corresponding to control. they tore the planets and the stars and essentially everything ever in the whole wide universe from her chest (if you look at her design, she has a rather gaping hole torn in her chest, displaying tendrils of magik and her core (basically the thing that keeps them alive yk)). i consider achbat to be the main antagonist of this storyline, but its pretty open to interpretation as you will see. achbat technically is able to take a scion but they have never done so in the recorded history of humanity (i need to make eye contact with you so you can see my knowing smirk and understand that this is relevant).
the next tier is the minor deities. they were created by achbat to oversee the workings of the universe. there are like. a lot of them. one of the most relevant being Vaxor, zephyrs patron and voted most hateable character ever in the history of ever (voted by me). Heās the god of wind and weather, relating to Zephyrs weather related magik. yeah, you have to hate him ok
next is Fochan, and heās really cool lookin. hes the god of the ocean/ water, and is also considered the executioner of achbat, so he kinda relates to justice as well. basically: achbat wants you dead so they send Fochan after ya and heāll ājudge your worthā based on the criteria set by Achbat, typically the lives that youāve negatively affected in some way shape or form. iād say those are the two most relevant mini deities, just know thereās one for literally everything.
most people dedicate themselves to a deity even if they arenāt seeking magik. within the Savaelly Empire, itās considered a punishable crime to attend the temple or 2 different deities within a moon (moons are judges by axocharās 3rd moon, Sypachi, which has a complete moon cycle of about a week). the savaelly empire also sacrifices the leaders of conquered regions to Achbat, the self proclaimed patron of the empire.
please let me know what you guys wanna see next !! (sorry rau i know i said sidra lore but she was not in this stream of consciousness)

(in order: light magik poisoning on zephyr, 2 really old fochan sketches, and achbat !!)
hey so iām starting a little series where every once in a while ill just drop some oc lore! i had a grand total of 2 people ask for it but this is also something iāve been wanting to do
iām just going to cover the very very basics of the story, namely a bit about the word Axochar (which is actually multiple words if you care) and about the histories of the species found in this lovely lovely place ! feel free to request what youād like to see next, but itāll likely be about magik/ magik poisoning since i already have something written for that
okkkkk letās get to it !! ā¬ļøā¬ļøā¬ļøā¬ļø
you will see me refer to this storyline as āaxocharā or by its old name ātales of axocharā. Axochar refers to the continent where this story takes place.
BIG LANGUAGE RAMBLE THAT ISNT RELEVANT AT ALL
Axochar, in the native language, translates to āland of the dragonsā or more literally āland owned by dragonsā as indicated by the āarā suffix, which when added to the object being owned (land/och) shows ownership by the prefix (dragon/ax)(the full word for dragon is draxus but if you refer to a dragon as an ax (pronounced aux) the locals know what you mean). (its similar to the mechanics of latin idk it makes sense in my head)
ābut stanky, what are these dragons doing here???? there arenāt any dragons in your story are you stupidā ok wow internal narrator that was kinda rude. letās talk about the dragons since you want it so bad.
the dragons are the original inhabitants of Axochar (duh), or better known as the original magik weilders. female dragons have wings and the highly sought after ability to grant the wishes of mortal men, while the males possess what is considered more traditional magik, like fire manipulation and other elemental manipulation (the specific kind depends on the dragon and the region it lives in).
dragons had a reputation for shapeshifting into humans and seducing them into āblood contractsā (essentially: you are mine now. you have my kid/ i have your kid).
the dragons, due to their wish granting abilities and ākidnapping of innocentsā they were hunted to the point of extinction, their hunters hailed as heroes (most famously Kharim Savaelly, killer of the last dragon (does that name sound familiar maybeā¦))
because of those āblood contractsā i mentioned earlier, we see the birth of 2 new species: dragonkin and drakon (iāll get into the logistics of what separates the species later if anyone cares). all you really need to know about them is that the dragonkin essentially āblendedā with the local people, leading to the high axocharian subspecies, that vaguely resemble the traditional elves and are typically very rich, famous, and successful. drakon strictly reproduced with other drakon, inhabiting the mountains to the north and the deserts in the south. in the āmodern dayā (as in when most of the story starts) the drakon are currently being exterminated by Anataris Savaelly, who wishes to live up to his ancestorās reputation.
i think thatās all iām going to cover today, just a bit on the development of the plot yk
hereās a mini species chart cus i did talk about species a little bit
sidra: high axocharian
zephyr: drakon
adiki, bird, jakob, arynn: human
mentioning this now, the reason why dragonkin were so much more widely accepted into society than drakon was because the dragonkin would shapeshift to appear more humanoid, which is a skill the drakon lack
uhhh yeah please lie and tell me you like this uhhhhhhhm what should i discuss next maybe ??
I actually love this so much!!! :D You have inspired me and someday I may do something similar though I haven't spent half the effort on my worldbuilding as yours
This is actually super cool though and I love the language stuff and I would love to learn about magik or blood contracts or other stuff :3
you say effort like i donāt come up with half of this in the shower šš but the compliments do not fall on deaf ears haahha ily eve
i donāt have that much info on blood contracts, itās more like a magical obligation that dragons would basically force humans into based on the dragonic laws (because the dragons were essentially the ruling class if that makes sense). it boils down to: āthe babyās got your dna? your spending the rest of your puny lifetime in my cave raising it. donāt wanna listen?? iām feeding you to my mate.ā
they really just did this for fun, the dragons are just lil pranksters š
i CAN tell you plenty about magik, which will be my next post

a place that feels like a dream is the church where i used to live. it was such a magnificent building, it literally looked ancient. i keep having this funky reoccurring dream where im there and i just wander around because it was so. huge.
it doesnāt feel like a dream in the sense that i absolutely adore being there, it just doesnāt feel real in that dream like manner. in the other sense, a place that brings me immense joy is taco bell
as far as dressing goes, i loveeeee city girl aesthetic. i got this corset top and i always wear it with a leather jacket and my low rise jeans like YESSSSS-
