“Yeah. Do you like Marvel?”

“Is this seat taken?” Caesar flashed the person opposite him a smile, kicking the chair out from under the table as gently as possible.

“No, not taken. Please sit down. I’m Jess.” Jessica smiled back as she pushed some of her stuff over so that this gorgeous specimen could sit down.

“So….this is Forks?” Cami murmured to no one in particular as she looked around, “It’s a lot…more grey than I was expecting.”

“Yeah this is Forks.” Jess said catching Cami’s words as she walked past. “You’ll get used to the colour scheme after a while.”

“No, they wouldn’t taste like sugar, as they’re not substitutes, but they would certainly offer energy boosts.”

“What would they taste like then? I certainly don’t need the extra energy but it is always good to have.”

Port Angeles? Isn’t that an hour away?

I really like romantic comedies.

I don’t actually know. I’m really bad a geography. I love romantic comedies too! What’s your favourite movie? Mine is ‘The Proposal’. I love that movie so much, like more than words. I love that movie so much, like more than words.

“Yeah. When do you want to go see it?”

God, I haven’t thought about the movies in ages. I’m not too sure what’s out. I also didn’t realize Forks had a movie theater?

“It doesn’t. The closet one is Port Angeles, i’m pretty sure. What kind of movies do you like?”

“Good question but clearly not go to the movies. Maybe I should do that more often. Are there any scary ones out? Those are my favorite.”

“I wouldn’t know, I don’t really like scary movies. I like movies more like Pride and Prejudice and The Notebook. We can compromise and see an action movie? I hear the new Avengers is good.”

“Honestly I have no idea, I can’t remember the last movie I actually went and saw.”

“What do you do? I love movies.”

Harper contemplated her offer for a moment. It wasn’t weird for exes to go out as friends, was it? He didn’t think so. Besides, the only thing between him and Jess now was platonic friendship. “That’d be great. I haven’t really hung out with anyone for a while.”

“What? Have you been living under a rock or something?” Jessica laughed lightly as she teased Harper.

“There’s that new George Clooney film out, isn’t there?” Harper paused, running a hand over three-days worth of stubble. “George Clooney is still cool, right?”

“For some,” she said, slowly averting her gaze, “what are you doing later? Maybe we could catch up and watch it together?”

“You know I was thinking today, it feels like forever ago that I went to the movies. Does anyone know what’s out that’s good?”

[stanleycommajessica]

“I have to get my energy from sugar, seeing as I can’t get it from caffeine. That’s pretty cool. Why are you researching the forest? Forks is a pretty good place to relax. At least, I think so.”

“I can only imagine the crash that you experience from all the sugar, though. Have you tried supplemental alternatives? B12, ginseng and ginkgo biloba help energize the body! Oh, there’s a plethora of things that will come from the research. I’d like to see how the plant life interacts with the environment, though.”

“Oh, they all sound interesting. They do the same thing as sugar? And plants? Would they taste the same as normal sugar?”

“What made you come back, if you don’t mind me asking? Do you have family here?”

[stanleycommajessica]

"I do have family here but they're not the reason I'm back. I went to college in California, but I decided that the sun and the sheer amount of people just wasn't for me. So here I am. Back home."

“Sugar dos help! Natural juices are an excellent way to get energy, as they still hold all of the nutrients that are lost on bottled beverages. I’ve come to explore, really. I’m going to be doing some research the forestry here and the surrounding areas, all the while trying to relax.”

"I have to get my energy from sugar, seeing as I can't get it from caffeine. That's pretty cool. Why are you researching the forest? Forks is a pretty good place to relax. At least, I think so."

“Quiet and little is exactly what I need in my life at the moment. People move out, others move in. I came because the last chief medical examiner moved away. Was it a lot smaller a few years ago?”

"Oh I get that. It's pretty cool, what you do. It was when I was last here which was about six or so years ago? I left for college and came back to a town with a bunch of new faces in it."

“Well no, not exactly. There’s a lot of chemicals that pack the punch in an energy drink, but taurine is amongst them. I honestly don’t know what I would do without a little boost of energy every not and again. No, we have not. It’s nice to meet you, Jessica; I’m Cassie!“

"I definitely don't need caffeine or anything that does the same job. Sugar helps with that too, right? It's good to meet you too Cassie. What brings you to Forks?"
