The Making of ARQ Ball
I started working for a company as a an iOS developer since 2 years ago. So far I am loving it! In my journey, I also got involved in a few projects using ARKit, which is the Augmented Reality (AR) framework that Apple released in 2016. I’m very excited to be able to use my 3D animation skills to prepare an animated character for my AR app.
A lot of developers asked me on how to model an object/ character in 3D and animate it. Therefore I would like to share with you on how I modeled a character, textured, rigged and animated it prior bringing to XCode. I used a 3D software called Autodesk 3D Studio Max.
Please note, these videos are not tutorial videos. They strictly show you my process in preparing a 3D character for AR use.
This is the Final Result
Part 1 - Modeling
Part 2 - Texturing
Part 3 - Rigging
Part 4 - Animation
Finally, I exported it from 3D Studio max using an extension called Open Collada, http://www.opencollada.org/ to produce a DAE file.
