i’m right there with you, man. if people wanna put their trees up and blast christmas music in their car or whatever, cool. but personally i need a breather in between my halloween and christmas moods. although i feel like bench pressing to mariah might be a perfect bit of motivation. can’t be too mad at that. 

why do people just constantly forget about thanksgiving like those little turkeys deserve just as much love as the reindeer do. i definitely recommend you giving it a try, it just might be the thing to give you that perfect bench pressing moment.

Honestly not even because I hate Christmas in November, but the fact that Christmas music is playing in a gym seems wrong all together. Who the heck wants to work a sweat to Mariah Carey? I can’t tell i it would be an amazing experience or an awful one. Bench pressing to Frosty the Snowman seems terrifying for some strange reason too..

it certainly threw me for a loop too, that’s for sure. surprisingly enough though, mariah carey’s voice in the background did wonders for my workout routine. but maybe that was just me wanting to rush and get it over with so i could exit the christmas music, that’s still up for debate. damn, now you have me wanting to test this theory. i’ll put in a special request next time i go to the gym.

Before Thanksgiving… fuck that, how about in general? That song, in particular, should be banned from all public places and especially the gym. I would’ve switched into a sudden fit of rage. Then I would say—if a dumbbell finds itself protruding from a wall, I shouldn’t be held accountable. 

honestly, i gotta say the song’s kinda grown on me. it’s also one of the only christmas songs i’m really familiar with other than the classics so maybe i’m a bit biased. i just decided to go with the flow, turned out to be a pretty good workout because of it too. although i don’t know if i’d include her in my playlists any time soon.

Some stores don’t even wait for Halloween to be done.  I swear Christmas stuff was out a good two to three weeks before Halloween.  It’s annoying AF!  I was at the salon the other day and they started playing Christmas music.  I legit asked them to change it.  Ugh, I know.  She totally betrayed the tradition.  It breaks my heart.

people just want everyone to get into christmas spirit, even if it’s two months beforehand. the spirit knows no bounds, apparently. thankfully i haven’t ran into any other instances of it yet but i’ve been mentally preparing myself for it. guess you’re going to have to banish her now, she betrayed the sacred tradition and that’s just entirely not good.

oh man i feel you, lucky for me my gym plays nothing but the charts and christmas music will be for christmas day and christmas day only - even then i don’t really enjoy christmas music, i’m not the grinch, i love presents and the food but if i have to hear last christmas by wham again? i might cry. 

i’ve been going to that gym for quite some time and i was one of the only ones there so i think it was more so of a joke on me. or i’m just so in the zone i haven’t noticed that they were playing it for longer than i think. i feel like the only one i hear in excess is all i want for christmas is you, which has apparently now become a holiday staple.

trust me, my tune would probably change if i saw ines jamming out to that song. it’d be difficult to remain against that song when you present something as adorable as that to me. what about thanksigivng though? think about all that thanksgiving food in between halloween and christmas! gotta have that.

I know, it just seems a bit otherworldly to be honest with you, even if it wasn’t still early November early for Christmas music everywhere. They should just stick with rock music like any other annoying ass gym. I guess to be fair, I can understand it because I’d want to get through reps more quickly to get the fuck out of there. But that’s usual gym mood anyway, music or not. 

or even if they insisted on playing christmas music, at least do some of those rock covers of classic christmas songs. two birds, one stone. people still get into the holiday spirit and that’s the kind of music that will get them all sorts of pumped up.

thankfully, as much as i love my mum she always plays michael bubles christmas album and it’s really pleasing for my ears not to hear it for the time being, all though i know christmas food has been out for the last few weeks, it’s too much and i cut the line at december, that’s when it’s appropriate to put the tree up. the gym though? crazy, imagine running on the cross trainer to whams last christmas? a bop.

i don’t think i’ve ever heard a michael buble christmas song but i know that’s kind of his thing. you bring up something great to look forward to with christmas time though, the food! i can’t wait to just drink my weight in spiked eggnog because isn’t that what christmas is truly about? that would’ve been amazing, i’ll put it on the playlist next time.

At a gym really? what a crappy gym. I am sorry, but they should be pumping motivational songs and songs that make you want to train not songs that make you want to cosy up in front of the fireplace with warm chocolate with the one you love. No one was safe from that before Halloween either, I love Christmas  a lot, but this year has been too much. 

i’ve gone to that gym forever and it was the first time they’ve done it, maybe they were just feeling the holiday spirit a bit too much. or the owners knew i was one of the only people there and wanted to play a trick on me. who knows, maybe next year they’ll start planning out christmas stuff in july to truly get a head start.

trust me, it was a new experience for me as well. certainly took me by surprise. it does figure that it would happen to me of all people, i’ma  victim to the christmas spirit before thanksgiving. here i thought i could get away from it by avoiding department stores but i was mistaken. the christmas spirit has come with a vengeance but just for that, i’m rigging a stereo in your place that only plays christmas music.

I don’t even know how I would work out to that.  I just don’t want to.  Honestly after like two weeks of Christmas music I’m tapped out.  It has to be very small doses of it, and some of it is sad.  I don’t need that in my life right now.  Anyway, I still think Christmas should start like two weeks before the holiday, not two months.  By the time it’s here now, I want it to be over.  I’m Harry, by the way.  

you know, it’s a lot easier than you might think. you just have to put yourself into the mindset of i’m going to amek this work and let mariah carey’s vocals power me through this workout. mind over matter, or something like that. that was really the first sign of christmas before thanksgiving that i saw but i give it a week before i’m overwhelemd by the christmas spirit. it’s nice to meet you harry, i’m sebastian.

You, my dear man, deserve a freaking hug for saying this! Christmas music before Thanksgiving is one of my biggest pet peeves. We always had a tradition when I was growing up. We never decorated or listened to the music or anything before Black Friday.  We would spend the entire day of black Friday blasting Christmas music, putting up a tree, and decorating the house. Now my own mother puts up decorations before Thanksgiving.  I really irks me.

it’s like the second the halloween masks get put away, the christmas trees and all the decorations comes out. and yet, despite all of these coming out so early i will still be so behind when christmas time does come around. she really betrayed the family tradition, didn’t she?

i’m not saying it didn’t, i’m just saying how shocked i am that it worked so well. i knew mariah carey had a lot of power but i never knew it was that strong. i would consider myself as more of a grinch than a scrooge, he’s more high fashion. that’s what i’m here for, the inspiration.
