For a bit of fun, curiosity and self-learning author’s Uber account was hooked up to Google Spreadsheets via Uber Riders API v1.2. All rides are now automatically added to Google Sheets upon their completion. Additional attributes and dimensions are added using spreadsheet formulas and functions. With the power of Tableau, the data is then sliced and diced from different perspectives and contexts, enabling to discover trends, relationships and patterns. The viz is auto-updated on a daily basis.
