There have been BLM protests for the past few days downtown. Today's was organized to be peaceful, but at 11:49 am the police threw tear gas into the crowd. That is the story across the board, so if you hear on the news tonight that there was a 'violent protest,' you need to know that the violence started from the police. I found a video shot after the first round of tear gas, and the second round of tear gas begins in the last 2 minutes of the video. I'm seeing reports of plain-clothes officers with concealed weapons.
There is a curfew from 10pm to 8am.
National guard is being deployed. Curfew is actually till 6am, but no end date issued.
An update from someone who lives in the area: three political officials attempted to join the protesters and were pepper sprayed by police. Swat fired wood pellets and tear gas into the crowds. Officers on horseback pushed people around. A friend of mine and his sister were in the crowd that was tear gassed; they seem to be okay but they say there were others who were not so lucky.

Yup I live here right now. Another reason why theres a curfew is because theres rumors that bricks are being thrown onto the highway. My roommate drove on the highway and sewn the remnants of the bricks and glass. Stay inside guys.
