Random post but… I don’t think I’ll be posting TADC art online anymore (at least not for a while anyway, I’m not really sure). Mostly due to the racism within the fandom and the voice actors/creator controversy. Of course, it’s not my apology to accept or forgive since I’m not black, I feel that it isn’t my place to do so. However, I definitely won’t be forgetting either. With that being said, non-black TADC fans really need to stop downplaying black TADC fans experiences with racism and opinions on the controversies.
As far as I can tell, it doesn’t matter if a black individual in the community decides to remain a TADC fan or not, many people will still continue to dogshit if they speak up on it or state any kind of opinion on it. We see anti black racism in fandom spaces and nerd culture time and time again but often ignored or downplayed, often out of one’s own comfort and complacency of their own/others personal racism.
This isn’t just a problem in TADC fandom but a lot of fandoms, just take a look at the cosplay side of fandoms and see how many anti black or “cosplay is for everyone : )” comments there are. (Like yeah, no shit cosplay is for everyone, but that isn’t addressing the problem?).
(I don’t really talk about fandom spaces on here since this is an art focused account. But, I wanted to mention it since I’ve been following the show since pilot).

WIP update - sorry I haven’t been working on this a lot… however, I’m in a better head space now than when I originally started working on this piece. Hopefully, I’ll make larger progress on it soon.
