Mulder remains still, in the car, completely intoxicated from her kiss. The smell of her shampoo and perfume fills his nostrils and he’s spell bound and unable to move. After what feels like two hours, he finally drives home; noting Mr. Scully standing with his arms crossed on the porch.
Like clockwork, he rises just before the sun and hits the shower. Today, however, with a smile on his face. He might have only gotten a few hours, but this morning he feels energized and ready to meet up with Scully. Within an hour he’s dressed, groomed, and pulling up in front of her house. He doesn’t honk the horn ( that’s very very rude — and just not him ). Instead, he gets out of the car and marches up to her front door, only slightly hoping that her father doesn’t answer. Sure, he likes Mr. Scully, and he’s sure the same in return, however, the man is intimidating, and Mulder’s dating his baby. Slightly shaking finger rings the door bell and he waits.
“I got it!” The doorbell ringing catches her attention, pushing the post of her earring in and quickly putting the back to it. She’s all but dressed, only lacking the shoes she placed by the door earlier.
“I got it Starbuck.”
“No...no, dad, I got it, I promise,” She all but raced to the door in front of her dad, slipping on her shoes and turning to kiss his cheek, “We’ll be fine, simply going to find an outfit for the dance, and then we’ll be back. We might grab lunch too. Don’t give him that look..” she pleads with her father, l smiling happily as she swings the door open. Mr. Scully stood behind her, as she stepped out, muttering, “Ignore him, he’s being weird.” Scully rolls her eyes a bit before looking over her shoulder, “Bye dad!!” With that, she grabs Mulder’s hand and tugs him off the porch quickly to prevent too much interaction. It was awkward because she’s quite sure that her dad saw them kissing in the car the night before. “Can we get breakfast this morning?”
