        "Ryu-chan, Ryu-chan!" Yuta chanted, almost immediately enveloping the shorter boy into a tight embrace. Letting go shortly afterwards, he beamed brightly as he produced his gift for Ryuji from his hands. He knew that Tomo-kun already gave him the Chupa bouquet last year, but it didn't stop Yuta from including it in his gift. 

       Placing the candy bouquet into Ryuji's hands, he smiled triumphantly. "Happy birthday, Ryu-chan~ I'll make today the absolute best, so let's go on a date~!"

★┊Ryu-chan:

            his lips parted to comment on the taller’s wish regarding their ( possible ) duet however, he is easily caught off guard with the tight squeeze. by hinting, he meant verbal hints— yuta was physically affectionate with nearly everyone in b-project! this wasn’t really hint dropping if hugs weren’t exclusive to the younger. cheeks are tinted pink despite how accustomed he is to yuta’s hugs though, and while he would usually push him away, with a nonchalant topic such as this, ryuji doesn’t bother. instead, he merely sighs, head shaking. 

    ❝ you hug everyone, ❞ he points out, eyes rolling. “i was thinking more of ‘doesn’t mixing unit members together sound interesting? yuta and i could be the test run duo’ or something. after all, since it’s you, hugging isn’t even a hint.” he pauses, a thoughtful hum escaping him. “a song about sweets though… that’d be different. neither of our units have had songs like that.”

       A laugh elicits from Yuta’s lips, eyes closing from his state of mirth-- and is simply made happier by the fact that Ryuji doesn’t really bother to push him away. Deciding to give the other his space, he loosens his grip on him and then releases him from his embrace. “Yeah, you’re right as always!” He nods thoughtfully, as he utilizes crossed arms as an armrest.

       “Right? Doesn’t that sound fun! We should try to write some lyrics together,” he suggests with a grin, “so about sweets... we can make it about love too, if you’d like. It can be like this big metaphor or something!” Affirming the idea with a nod, he strokes his chin thoughtfully as he envisions a music video. “If only we could do a thing like the others and go around trying sweets. It’d be so fun...”

    “as for lyrics… i don’t usually… it’d be nice if we got to duet though. i wouldn’t be surprised if we got one in the future— artists collab all the time. plus, we’re from the same group even if we’re not in the same unit…” his arms cross, lips formerly pursed in thought forming a mischievous grin. “we just have to keep dropping hints, don’t we?”

     “Hehe, you know me so well, Ryu-chan!” He shoots back with a matching grin along with a lopsided thumbs-up. “As long as everyone is satisfied, I’m willing to do anything! You can find fun in anything, even when it comes to singing weird lyrics.”

     “I think we’ll get a fun and energetic song-- what if we sung about sweets? I’d like that!” He pauses when he sees the familiar smirk creep up Ryuji’s face-- shaking off his shock, he takes a minute to survey their surroundings to ensure that at least someone else was in vicinity. “Dropping hints? What kind of hints?” Yuta questions before pulling his best friend into a tight hug. “Like this? Do we need to show the world that we’re the bestest of friends?”

        “Yeah, he’s a really hard worker even though he doesn’t like to admit it!” He returns cheerfully, “It’s a good song, isn’t it? Recording was pretty funny, Gochin and Ken Ken started to fight over how suggestive the lyrics were.”

           “I hope we have a duet sometime in the future! Do you usually write lyrics, Ryu-chan? We can write a song about our friendship, and they might let us sing it!”

     “Oh, I was reviewing the footage I got this morning...” Yuta replied quickly, looking up from the camera to shoot Goushi a wide smile. Offering the camera to the shorter male, he also gave him a soft nudge.

      “Do you want to see it? Ken Ken muttering to himself about his hair in the morning is pretty hilarious!”
