Hello Bluestreak! My Name is Starry and I heared you were looking for a family? I just wanted to ask what your ideal one would look like to see if my family fits.
*Bluestreak looked away from the game he was playing with the much younger kids. His door wings wiggled a little and he put his cards down to stand up.* You’re thinking of adopting me?
*The seeker looked almost as old as Ratchet. A small smile on their face as they nodded. They were a couple shades of purple and red and their cockpit blending into the pallet as an unusual black.*
"My young ones are grown and moved out. I heard that there have been some bots looking for homes as almost fully grown. So what do you think kid? What's your idea of a perfect family?"
Well, I’ve been here so long just about any family is the perfect family. I just want a home where I can be a bit vulnerable and feel safe in and forget about the fact I’ve been here my entire life.
"Mhm. Alright." *Star turned to look at the little ones their eyes soft.* "How about we take this somewhere a bit more private kiddo? I have a few more questions that might be a bit more vonerable for you. Do you know anywhere we could talk semi privately?"
There’s the quiet rooms for when anyone gets overwhelmed with all the noise, they’re usually empty on days like today.
"Would you be comfortable going there with me?"*They asked gently.*
*Bluestreak thought about it for a moment then nodded* Yeah, I would. I’m not a baby anymore, that was…twenty years ago *he muttered the last part to himself.*
"You may not be a baby, but youre still a kid." *They hummed laying a hand on his head to gently rub it. As if without thinking.*
*Bluestreak stared at them, registering what just happened before leaning towards their touch.*
*Star paused for a moment before their eyes softened even further.* "Hm. Something tells me since your older you haven't been getting much affection or attention." *They said quietly.* "would you like a hug?"
Yes please. *Bluestreak muttered* And it’s not like I’m not given attention or affection, there’s just so many younger kids so the adults can only do so much.
*Star gently pulled him in holding him as if he was something precious. Something that deserved affection and care.* "Oh I am absolutely not blaming them. But you deserve to be taken care of to." *Their voice was soft and gentle as they rubbed his back.* "And you seem very affection starved."
*Bluestreak’s doorwings drooped and he hugged Star back tightly, as if letting go would be the end of the world.* Many bots around my age have been adopted already and those who haven’t have been doing their own thing. I’ve just been afraid that I’ll never get a family of my own since I’m older…even the teenagers have a higher chance of being adopted than someone like me.
"Mhm?" *Star hummed letting him latch on. Their thumb gently swiping back and forth over the space between his doorwings. He was listening completely and utterly.*
*His doorwings twitched in response, it made him feel more relaxed already.* I don’t blame the adults, they were doing their best. They built this daycare from nothing, did everything they could when they found all of us. It’s why they’re trying so hard to get us all adopted as soon as possible.
"Well youre a very very good kid." *They murmured.* "I can see how hard you try. And how kind you are each and everyday. You deserve a good, safe, and quiet home. Somewhere you dont have to be scared anymore."
*Bluestreak looked up at them, wiggling his doorwings happily.* So are you really going to adopt me?
"I would be honored." *They smiled so softly and gently stroked his cheek with a thumb.* "Do you want to see my home."
*He nodded eagerly* I’d love to! We just need to find one of the adults to do a home inspection- it’s part of the whole adoption process. They need to see the home too.
"Alright." *The old seeker's helm moved in a nod looking around.* "you ready for me to let go now?"
*Bluestreak tightened his grip on them before finally loosening his grip and wiggling free.* Yeah. I’m ready.
"There will be plenty more hugs and cuddles at a later time if you so desire." *Stardrop gently rubbed his shoulder before pulling his hands to himself. Clasping servos infront politely.* "You know this place better than me. Where should we find someone?"
Elita is over by the front desk! We could ask her if she can do the home inspection since Optimus and Megatron are busy! *he pointed down the hall towards the main area*
"That is a good plan." *They nod with a fond smile.* "I seem to have forgotten the way. Old processor and all. Show me to it?"
*Bluestreak nodded eagerly and ran to the common area, then the front desk to where Elita was sitting.* Elita! Elita!! Someone wants to adopt me!!
*Elita looked surprised, a smile growing on her face as she stood from her seat.* That’s wonderful Bluestreak!
*The cybertronian that entered after could only be described as ancient. Older than yourself or, again, even Ratchet. But they were still kicking and standing tall, proud, and strong. This was a fighter. A protector. Someone who looked like they could keep Bluestreak in line and safe.* "hello." *They murmured.* "My name is Stardrop. I take it you are Elita?"
*Elita’s gaze softened and she nodded at them, already getting a good feeling about this,* Yes, that’s correct. It’s nice to meet you, Stardrop. So, you’re here to adopt Bluestreak? That’s wonderful, we’ll just have to go through a couple processes first.
"Of course." *They smiled kindly at her this time even as they rested a supportive hand on Bluestreaks' back. Encouraging him to sink closer and soak in the warmth emitting from their frame.*
*Bluestreak inched closer to Stardrop, his door wings wiggling with excitement.*
I’ll just need to do a home inspection, we have a functional space bridge so we can go right to your place. Just to make sure you have everything you need. *Elita said as she grabbed some papers to write on later.*
"Of course." *They nodded seriously.* "I am ready whenever you are Ma'am." *their servo gently hand up and down Bluestreak's back slowly and gently.*
*Elita nodded and started walking* Follow me to the space bridge.
*Bluestreak flapped his doorwings more excitedly and grabbed Stardrop’s free servo and rushed to follow Elita.*
*Stardrop followed easily, them being twice the size of the younger, face neutral.* "Oh. There is one thing I might do not believe i mentioned. My home is not on land. It is underwater."
Huh, you definitely didn’t mention it before that you live underwater. It could change the whole process. *Elita commented, looking back at Bluestreak. Her main priority was his safety and well being in any home that may adopt him.*
I wouldn’t mind it! *Bluestreak said excitedly.* I like Mr Seaspray’s swim classes!
"The building itself is very tight and secure. It was simply a hide away for me to stay out of the war with myself and my children." *They smiled softly.* "But there are accesses to land."
Oh, well why didn’t you mention it earlier? Having a home that secure with access back to land is more than good enough. *Elita stopped at the space bridge and looked at Stardrop.* Just enter your home’s coordinates and we can really start the home check.
*Star did as asked. Tapping methodically for a moment before stepping back and waving the other two through.* "Whenever youre ready." *
*Elita nodded and was the first to step through the space bridge.*
Thank you again so much for considering adopting me. *Bluestreaker whispered to Stardrop, smiling at them before heading to the space bridge.*
*Stardrop's eyes were soft and their field gently expanded to cover the younger one in a soft and caring one. Following close behind. Never too far away if their new little bird needed them.* "There is no need to thank me."
*The room was large and GORGEOUS. The entry way was a dome shaped circler room with several hallways. The top of the dome was glass that showed the ocean outside. It casted a blue light over the entire floor. As they walked forward lights light up the floor.* "This is my home Elita." *They gave a bow of the helm motioning to the pathways.* "Would you like to start?"
*Elita looked around the room, taking mental notes of everything she saw already. After a moment she started going down one of the pathways.* I must say, this is much better than I expected already. Can’t wait to see what the rest of the place looks like and how it can give Bluestreak everything he needs.
*Bluestreak wiggles his doorwings excitedly, looking up and around the room as well.* It’s so pretty.
"The kitchen is to the right. Bedrooms to the left and the sitting room is right ahead." *They hummed motioning vaguely as their eyes, gentle and soft, tracked Bluestreak's movement. They looked so parental already.* "I could show you all in one go. Or we could take it one at a time."
I’d like to see everything, just so I know what kind of place Bluestreak will be living in. You can pick first on where we can go. *Elita said, stopping for a moment to look at Stardrop, then at Bluestreak.*
I’d like to see the bedrooms. *Bluestreak muttered.* I wanna see what could be my new room.
*They gave a small nod and smiled again.* "Well we have a few options. And any room that isnt already taken by one of my other children can be converted to a bed room. If you like the placement or such for example." *They motioned to a tunnel and started to walk them down it.*
*There were photos and paintings scattered across the walls. Pictures of bots of all kinds in large group photos. Hugging eachother, asleep on a couch, or playing some sort of game. From little baby sparklings to full grown adults. The floor lights were soft and soothing as they walked. After a few door Stardrop opened a door to a small bedroom. It was mostly plain with a single window looking out onto the sea.* "This is the furthest from my personal residence if you wanted more space. You are a young adult after all."
*Elita looked around at all the pictures and paintings on the wall, smiling a little seeing all the sweet moments memorialized. This was a home full of love and safety, a home where kids got to grow up to be fine adults.*
*Bluestreak peeked into the room, gauging on how big it was and how much stuff he’d put in it.* could I get anything just a little bigger? I don’t have a lot, but I would like to have space to maybe put some stuff in it.
*Stardrop nodded after a moment of thinking.* "Of course. We have a second bedroom which is a little bigger. Or a third one that is twice as big. Which one are you thinking would be better?"
Mmmmm…twice as big. If that’s not too much to ask. *Bluestreak dragged one of his pedes against the ground nervously.*
This may be your new home, Bluestreak, don’t be afraid to ask for anything to help it feel more at home. *Elita encouraged with a smile.*
"I truly just want to do whatever makes you feel at home." *Star smiled ever so softly at him and held out their hand.* "Come I will show you to the room and you can decide if youd like it."
*Bluestreak nodded eagerly and ran over to Stardrop to see the better room.*
*The next room was a little ways down the hall. Passing more paintings and projects hung on the wall as well as old deactivated weapons that seemed to be built from scrap parts. Star opened the door and showed what was a much larger room. It was infact twice the size with a large bed and a desk. A rug was on the floor as well as the walls being lined with shelves. On the far end a large portion of the wall was taken up by a window looking out onto the sea floor.* "how does this look little one?"
