Shoutout to Alfred for being a character that encompasses the cruelty of his father and that of his own making, being the villain in so many history books, yet somehow has kindness and compassion and the genuine want to do what’s right.

Because once upon a time he fought for something that was fragile and was told didn’t belong to him, yet won it anyway. And fragile it is. But even cracked and dulled, he refuses to let it be pried from his hands.

And there’s still people who believe in him somehow, because if there’s someone who can still make a change it’s the loudmouthed, upstart brat who did so many things wrong, yet still got some things right. Who still has dreams that should have been trampled long ago, yet still has hope for a better tomorrow.

Keep your chin up, kid. Hopefully one day you’ll finally make that difference that no one has before you. Don’t give up just yet. There’s still time.

the thing is it works literally every time. he thinks it's so funny. if he's self-isolating this is the single most effective way to break him out of it. if he's ragebaiting his brother this will get him to stop because he's too busy laughing. if he's upsetting Ana María he'll back off because, again, too busy laughing.

It's just not fun to me if Alfred and Matthew are normal brothers or even normal twins.

I need them to get along 99% of the time. Their banter is almost all incomprehensible in-jokes, not much teasing or ribbing. They don't bicker and if they fight, it's world-rattling.

Like the way cats communicate with humans by meowing, but communicate with each other non-verbally, Alfred and Matthew often have entire conversations without saying a word.

They are lost boys. Abandoned fae children that can assume the shape of mischievous devils whenever they like.

I need their love and affection for each other, whether brotherly or something else, to be at least partly narcissistic in both directions.

With that "world's longest undefended border", I need them to sometimes forget the fact that they're not the same person.

i had the best human interaction of all time last night. i was sitting at a bar eating an appetizer and this guy comes up to order a drink and stares at my food and comments how good it looks. when i am drunk i use the word bitch like it is a comma, i plug it into any space in a sentence possible. so naturally the first thing i say to this stranger is, “go ahead and take one, bitch.”

he looks SO shocked and taken aback and goes “what did you just say? how do you know my name?” so i sit there for a moment trying to figure out what the fuck he is talking about, and then go, “…. bitch?” and he looks so relieved and tells me his name is mitch.

i cannot stop thinking about this. oh my god. imagine going into a bar and someone you know for a fact youve never met approaches you and says “go ahead and take one, mitch.” im cracking the fuck up. he looked like he thought this was the fucking truman show
