Which (and walk with me here) I think this is a really interesting connection to Francesca's storyline. Considering a part of her grief was her feeling like she failed her John because she couldn't provide an heir before his death. Just a reminder that these women are drilled to internalize the ability to have children as their ultimate purpose, and how this mindset can negatively manifest in cases of infertility.
So like we can all agree her plan is bullshit right? Not in the sense that she's lying to El, but in the sense that its stupid and ultimately will not work.

We know from the both the show and the First Shadow play that direct exposure to the hive mind will change your blood type. So let's see we have Will, who has been treated by Dr. Owens (and they most definetly have those files somewhere) and literally displayed powers similar to El at the Hawkins base. Then we have all the kids that Henry snatched, who the government took in and most likely accounted for. If they came back suddenly they're gonna take them to get medical help (to which they will most likely test their blood and come to the similar conclusion).
Plus we dont know how much of Kali's blood is in the upside-down, very well they could have taken some of it and other test subjects out.
Lowkey at the end of the day, I think Kali's "realisim" is being clouded with probably some depression, and I can't really blame her. Poor girl turned into the thing she didn't wanna turn back into, she saw the man made horrors beyond the curtain. Like yeah at that point the concept of killing yourself as a means of stopping both your suffering and the potential suffering of others sounds great...

Too many people on this site are pro hive. It is a BAD THING. People seem to think Carol is meant to be an example of a racist white lady forcing American individualism onto another culture, this is NOT THE CASE and it is a gross misreading of the text. The Hive is a painfully clear allegory for forced assimilation. They practically state it in the show, the characters might as well be looking at the audience and saying "WE ARE TALKING ABOUT ASSIMILATION AND CULTURAL GENOCIDE".
The survivors who are cool with the hive and refusing to accept that their loved ones do not exist anymore and are (for the time being) essentially dead are the people who assimilate willingly, then refuse to admit that they have done so or argue how it was a good thing.
Manousos is a Colombian man who has watched his home and culture be eradicated through assimilation, with his mother being stripped of her true personality and behaving in a sterotypical 'loving gentle mother' way that contradicts her true personality, while he actively fights against the colonization and destruction of these things. Looking at it allegorically, him accepting the hive would be like him changing his name to something like Mark and getting embarrassed and ashamed whenever anything related to his old culture is brought up.
Carol is a lesbian woman who believed she had to hide her homosexuality from her readers, else risk no one being willing to engage with her media. She literally changed the gender of the main love interest of her novels because she believed it to be the 'safe option'. She is also literally a Conversion Therapy survivor. Carol ALREADY had to actively fight to remain true to herself as a member of a marginalized group. Joining the hive would completely erase her identity as a lesbian. Looking at it allegorically, it would be the version where the conversion therapy traumatized her so badly that she ended up marrying a man and pretending to be straight for the rest of her life.
In the hive there are no lesbian's, there are no columbians, there are no real people. When Koumba says that skin colour does not matter, that is literal and all encompassing. It doesn't just not matter in the fact that there is no oppression, it doesn't matter in the sense that all culture has been eradicated. It does not exist anymore. It is essentially a full and total cultural genocide of the entire planet. When The Hive tries to comfort Carol by telling her that they are very accepting, she is really saying that when Carol is a part of Them there will be nothing to accept, because they will all be the same anyway.
The Hive is the social pressure for trans people to detransition to avoid being assaulted, it is little girls being forced to play with dolls if they want cars, it is little boys being forced to play with cars when they want dolls, it is being made fun of for you accent until you learn to erase it, it is autistic people being mocked for stimming.
The Hive is colonialism, it is cultural genocide, and it is conversion therapy.

So I see alot of people worried about the wording used from the Plubs when they talk about getting stem cells from Carol. I dont blame yall, they did say all the lawyers from earth are in the hive so it wouldn't be outlandish to assume that they'd use her eggs.
Fun lil fact, my sister is a scientist, she does cancer research for a living so safe to say she would know alot about stem cells. So I just reached out to her at an ungodly hour for a question.

Bone marrow contains specific stem cells that turn into the things that make up your blood, i.e., platelets, red blood cells and white blood cells.
For instance, some cancer patients get stem cell transplants to help their immune system get back to normal after undergoing chemo therapy.
So what does this tell us?
They need cells specific to Carol (and the other's) immune systems so they can work their way around it. They can't get these specific cells from sperms and eggs. So they should be safe
So like theres no other way to day this other than WOW. Just a fantastic piece of animation like no notes. The Manga was beautifully adapted, all the action scenes were so insane I felt like I did a line of coke. But God even the slower scenes felt so good. Like I could stew in it and feel centered in it ya know.

Sure, Auggie was not a "bad guy" in the way he was in Earth I, and he's right, there is only so much that he as an individual can do.
