Kintsugi's sort of staring at him. She wasn't training, technically — just hanging around watching the others and hoping nobody would notice her and drag her along to join — but this is definitely a spectacle and a half.

“ Woah. ” That's all she says as she jumps down from the little perch she's sitting on — a windowsill, to be precise. Kintsugi raises her eyebrows. “ That's a thing and a half you got in you there. ”

A sword. He has a fucking sword sticking out of him. She crosses her arms. “ You alright there? ”

Ludovic looked more annoyed at the blade in his chest than pained.

“I appreciate the concern, but I am fine.” He tugs the sword out of his chest cavity with one sharp tug, and he doesn't even wince. There isn't any blood either, and he weighs the blade in his hand for a moment before using it to hit the bullseye of a target.

“I have dealt with far worse than a blade in my body.”

She just . . . blinks. “ Fun. You're gonna have to get that sewn up though, you know, ” she says, raising her eyebrows. “ Else Mother will fuss. ” Well. That's a guarantee anyway, but might as well mention it.

“ Good aim, though. You're . . . Ludovic, right? ” She raises her eyebrows. “ Vasela. Unless I'm getting mixed up? ”

“Valesa. And I will be fine, worst case scenario is that another centipede tries to make a home in my ribcage. Madam Arlecchino can fuss all she wishes, it's not like I'm in any sort of actual pain.” Something was very wrong with Ludovic, but he also looked like sitting in the sun was draining him of any sort of life he had remaining.

Which was funny because he's already dead.

“ Not Arlecchino, wrong one. She's Father. Have you met Brighella ye— I'll assume not, ” she shrugs. Whatever, she'll assume he will soon enough.

Kintsugi shakes her head and folds her arms, side-eyeing him. “ Uh huh. No way you're getting any centipedes. Come on, you're coming to the infirmary with me. No choice about it. ”

Ludovic looks. So confused.

“There's not much the infirmary can do for a dead person. And besides I like the centipedes...”

“ I don't like the centipedes. And again, Mother will fuss, like he always does. We're going to the infirmary, so they can sew you back up. Dead or not, you're not going around with a gap in you. ”

She blinks for a second. “ Oh, fuck, my name. I'm Fukomoto Kintsugi. Or technically Kintsugi Snezhneva now. Whatever. ”
