I went to the dodie concert in the Sugar Factory in Amsterdam in February last year and it was the first time in a while I heard Burned Out. I had probably ever seen it on YouTube, but I mainly listened to her songs on Spotify, just out of habit. Now, if you have ever been to a dodie concert, you know that it is an emotional rollercoaster because the concerts tend to be quite intimate and she really knows how to connect with the audience. When she performed Burned Out, I felt like I heard the song for the first time and I broke down crying. I was with two friends and whilst one friend hugged me, the other one filmed dodie performing and the 40-second video fragment of Burned Out has me sob faintly in the background lol (around 0:24). I must have played that fragment about a billion times because now, when I listen to the studio version of Burned Out on Human, I swear I hear myself sobbing in the background of the recording and it is An Experience™.
