More: Snakes actually shed their skin quite often — 2-4 times per year on average — via a process unique to arthropods (bugs) and reptiles called ecdysis. 

Unlike mammals, a snake’s skin can’t grow with its body. The only way a snake can continue growing is to shed its skin — and this is why little baby snakes shed their skin as often as every two weeks. 🐍

Not to get discoursey but "credit is in the captions" isn't crediting. No one can see the captions and I can assure you most people won't learn to navigate with VoiceOver/TalkBack (assuming that's where the captions would be read to us) just to maybe have a shot at figuring out where you took a GIF from
