the chance that matt was still alive somewhere was a faint one — but mike had experienced firsthand what was waiting for them outside in the snow , he'd been enduring for hours now , and he wasn't about to let more of his friends fall victim to those monsters .

gotham was a stark contrast to the vivid hues she'd been accustomed to within metropolis .
she'd tagged along with lex as she often always did , snapshots gathered in abundance for the brooding infrastructure of the city and its inhabitants . eve had planned to stay with him , curious to whatever fresh initiative had brought him to a place like this . but he'd slammed the door on her face before she could so much as think about following him inside , leaving her alone to pursue her own devices .
eve had always been good at adapting .
she'd adjusted her wardrobe before making the journey , sporting a black faux—fur coat that all but engulfed her slender figure , some leather pants , as well as a pair of knee-high heels to complete the gothic ensemble .
had she not been so entranced in taking selfies by some gargoyle-esque statue , she might not have noticed the figure slipping by in the background as though he needed to be somewhere with great urgency .
but that had never stopped her before .
