Complete list of moments Jack's love for Ianto was undeniably canon [non-TV]
In The Shadows (audio, early S2) - Jack’s trapped in a nightmare, and one of his greatest fears is that Ianto gets mistreated by other people (here, John), or alternatively, that he’d go and cheat on Jack because he never forgave him for Lisa / never loved him anyway. And Jack admits (stuttering, and only to himself, but then again aren’t those the very most important admissions?) that he loves Ianto; and when Ianto rescues Jack from his eternal nightmare, Jack sees him as an angel (😇😍)
The Twilight Streets (novel, middle of S2) - Okay this takes place in another reality, but bear with me; basically, it’s a Brave New World (only Torchwoodian - literally), and Jack being suffocated every 6 hours is the centerpiece of it (don’t ask). Now this goes on and on for years, and never can Jack gather quite enough strength to rouse from his prison and fight back - until Ianto tries and stop it, and is ripped to pieces right on top of Jack’s glass cage. And that unleashes Jack. Not because he saw any of it, but because he /felt/ it - “Somewhere inside his head, he felt something sever and die.” And he tears himself free and turns into an unstoppable beserker, because enough is enough, /because Ianto is dead/. [RIP me, honestly 😭😭😭😭]
Outbreak (audio, post-S2) - Basically, Jack is infected with a virus that makes you want to kill the ones you love, and the only one he goes after is Ianto. (…. I know how that sounds, I swear I do, but it’s better in context I promise…… well, as ‘better’ (feelz-wise) as Torchwood can get :/)
House of the Dead (audio, post-CoE) - Jack meets a powerful entity capable of bringing (any number of (?)) dead people back to life; and the only one he wishes for is Ianto. He confesses his love to him (even when Ianto insists he doesn’t need to say it), tells him there’s no point to living anymore when “the world is empty because you’re gone”, and “what else is there?” (= except Ianto, for him in the world). In the end, Jack is even willing to risk the end of the world (= the entity breaking free) just to have Ianto back (but ofc Ianto sacrifices himself to stop that from happening, BECAUSE HE IS IANTO & WAY TOO GOOD FOR THIS GODDAMN WORLD ANYWAY

Aliens Among Us - Orr (audio, present-day / post-S4) - Soon as Jack learns that shapeshifting psychic Orr turns into the form of the person/being one most desires, he does his very best to think of all his kinks and long-held fantasies and not a specific person when he’s around them; but eventually, they dig deep enough to uncover the reason Jack is so hesistant to let them in: One young man he’d do anything to ‘hide from view’, one feeling that runs too deep for him to ever want to confront again……
