Drawing of Celeste. Yeah, kinda what it is basically.
Wanted to do a Celeste piece, so I did. I’m very happy with this one! Especially how much quicker it took to make than my previous drawing, which is refreshing :) Honestly, I don’t think I have a lot to say except rambles about making it. I like Celeste a lot so I made a thing. That’s pretty much it.
Drawing this one was a real breeze compared to recent work. No torture devices hidden as perspective, no tedious referencing, and no excessive amounts of minutia (sort of). As it turns out I am much better at drawing whole landscapes than even the smallest sections of interiors. It’s a lot more freeform and you’re not necessarily required to keep inside the lines and it speeds up my process a lot more. I guess when everything is lined and defined I feel compelled to take my time (What rhymes!), or be more precise? I’m not sure, maybe it’s just the nature of interiors that I get caught up in.
This one’s got some of my favourite stuff to draw in it: night scene (so I can do a vignette), simple colour scheme, glowy stuff, and a sprinkling of snowflakes through the air. I like my sprinkles :) I absolutely love the foreground, very snowy, very icy. I’m very proud of it. Also Madeline and Badeline on either side of the ice in the asphalt. It’s kinda lore accurate and that kind of detail makes me happy. heheh.
Anyway, 5/12 is coming up soon so I should be starting something for that hopefully soon. No comic updates :( Been getting too into the flow of making stuff other than it.
