Hi, nice to meet you!

Welcome to my fictionkin blog :)

I use primarily she/they pronouns, and I go by Gangle, Ribbit, or Thistle here ^^

I strongly kin both Gangle and Ribbit from The Amazing Digital Circus, and I'll be talking about my experiences with that on this blog!

Doubles can interact, and I'd love to hear from sourcemates if you stumble upon my blog and want to chat! Fair warning, I am currently a minor. (Important note for sourcemates, in case it needs to be said)

I've just gotten back from seeing the movie. Asks are back on. I won't answer anything about the movie until it's out on YouTube, but they're back on.

Random Gangle memory #3:

This memory takes place a while after canon. It was nearing sunset, and I was walking down the dirt path leading from the tent. At some point, I turned left, and I got a clear view of a picnic on a hill- where I was heading. I paused as I approached, taking it in. I don't remember who all was there already, but Jax was there- or, well, whatever her name was at that point. My vision focused on her.

She was wearing a dress and eyeliner, chatting and laughing. There was a peace and a freeness in her expression that had never been there in the time I'd known her prior. As I watched her, I felt... calm. After all she'd done, she somehow felt safe. Like someone that could be a friend. It was good to not be afraid anymore, and I was happy she'd figured herself out. I approached the picnic, and I'm pretty sure she smiled and waved me over, seeming calm around me as well.

...I don't remember the picnic itself, but I'm sure it was lovely :).

Random Ribbit memory #7:

I loved to swim. I'd enjoyed swimming a lot before the circus, but being a frog made it so much easier and so much more fun. Being all sleek with built-in flippers... it was the best! I was definitely my happiest whenever I was at the digital lake :)

Note: I... wanted this to be a happy memory, but my brain decided otherwise and gave me a connected thing. Vent (?) and abstraction mention tw below the cut.

(Also, not to make a bad memory out of a good one, but I remember my friends (Daisy and Kaufmo, mostly) took me down to the lake a couple times when they noticed my depression starting to get worse. It did always help make me feel a little better.)

((I. actually think I remember my last visit to the lake, now that I've got myself talking about it. By that point, very little was able to cheer me up, or make me feel anything at all. I remember I spent the first half of it sitting on a beach chair not doing anything (much to the concern of my friends) before getting up and splashing around in the shallows for the heck of it. It... made me smile a bit. Stirred something in my chest, and I felt kinda good, for a second. But it didn't last, and the realization that it didn't last was awful. I don't really remember how I got back to the tent, I might've just sat and stared into the water for a little while...))

((I wish it had lasted. I wish I had had the energy to run down the beach and dive into the water and swim and play, and look back and see the relief in my friends' eyes that I was finally ok. I wish I could've challenged them to swimming races and splash fights again. I wish I could've gone swimming with them properly, one last time or not))

((I wish for that now, and I was wishing for that back then, staring into the water.))

((I can't remember if I cried when I realized it didn't last. I might've. Maybe that's how I got back to the circus, because Daisy (or someone else?) saw and decided to take me back... not sure though))

((Some details that didn't fit but I should add since these memory posts are to find canonmates: Ragatha was at the final lake visit, and I think it was about a month before my abstraction. Maybe a month and a few days, to be exact.))

Random Ribbit Memory #6:

I'm nearly certain I met Daisy before the circus. Specifically, I'm pretty sure we met in highschool, and I think it was because we were lab partners in chemistry class (?).

I'm pretty sure we were upperclassmen, but I don't think either of us were adults when we entered. We entered at the same time, if I'm right. I believe one of us was a year older than the other... I've been thinking it was her for the longest time, but I'm starting to suspect it was the other way around.

...

Those are the memories that I'm the most solid on in regards to the whole pre-circus backstory- but I might have a lot, and I mean a lot more. See, when episode 8 was still coming out, I decided that I wanted to try to make a comic detailing how I thought Ribbit and Jax entered the circus. I don't recall whether or not I had this kintype yet, unfortunately.

I ended up drafting out an entire 15 pages, with tons of wide shots of different areas and pages of dialogue- much of which implied a lot of things about our overarching lives back then as a whole. I never finished it- which, of course I didn't, it was huge- but it bothers me So Much to not be able to know how much of that was memory versus headcanon.

Especially because of how much dialogue was cut to make room for the art, and how many scenes were cut so I had a chance of finishing it- there's a possibility we ate at the McDonalds Gangle managed at once, and I'm fascinated by the implications of that if so. There's a possibility I know what my own front lawn looked like, which makes me wonder if I have more pictures of that house somewhere in my memory. There's a possibility that I could map out a small portion of the C&A building, and that would be insanely cool to have (and possibly helpful to find canonmates with). There's even a chance I remember what Daisy's parents were like, and some of my friends.

Going insane over this comic draft. Current plan is to watch the movie and see what happens, but until then... ragh

Random Ribbit memory #5:

There was at least one instance where I managed to swap me and Caine's bowties for a day, with the premise of seeing how long it would take him to notice. Needless to say, he was highly concerned when Jax, Kaufmo, and I were whispering and giggling all day...

You always see him messing with it in the show, and every time he'd adjust it or straighten it we'd be trying so hard not to laugh- I'm pretty sure there was even a time where he entirely took it off and put it back on and showed no sign of having seen anything wrong. The amount of times he'd directly addressed me that day and not noticed my bowtie was the wrong color was phenomenal, actually (pretty sure there were only three occasions, but it scared the hell out of me every time).

I'm pretty sure he didn't notice on his own, or at least didn't notice for a while... I can't remember if he figured it out on his own, if Ragatha pointed it out because she felt bad, or if I had to tell him so I could have mine back, but it was definitely at the very end of the day... I was kinda worried I wouldn't get it back at all lol.

I can't remember his reaction for sure either, but I'm pretty sure he was fake-mad for the bit? Or maybe vaguely peeved? Either way and if so he got over it in about 5 minutes. There's also an equal chance he didn't really have a reaction, or gave us a little chuckle and pat on the back for the joke... unclear.

I'm so mad that the hands are positioned juuuuust so that you can't tell if there's a tail there or not. I know I had one and I'm so curious as to whether or not it's on the official model...

Recently I've been getting this really fun phantom shift where I'm Ribbit (this design, specifically), but the ribbons on my back are a pair of Gangle arms! I like moving them around, it's entertaining :). The "arms" are a lot weaker than normal phantom-shift limbs, but I've noticed them doing a lot of silly things, like raising in greeting, or pretending to hold things. They're awesome, I love them.

My mom was helping me get some things for a Ribbit cosplay (I'm gonna dress up and see the new episode in theaters) and I am about to have the coolest bowtie ever.

Manifesting some sort of Kaufmo scene in the final episode... I'm not a Kaufmo fictionkin myself, but him having a scene would increase the chances of other people realizing they're him pretty drastically!! At the very least, I'd like to remember what he sounded like... if there's any Kaufmos out there, miss you lots! Your jokes may have mostly been "bad" dad jokes, but I thought you were hilarious.

This is probably gonna be like, my third kinfession this night, but I've been thinking about the Ragatha I knew.

When I knew her, I considered her part of my friendgroup (with me, Jax, and Kaufmo), but I could never tell if she knew she was part of it. She certainly seemed uncertain on that point herself, even going so far as to excuse herself from hangouts with us if she didn't feel fully welcome. To be honest, I... always kinda assumed that she'd figure out on her own that she didn't have to leave, or that she was wanted, but thinking back on it I don't think she did.

I guess that's fair, though- she was always the one taking the picture instead of in it, always the one to not understand the joke, always the one worrying if whatever hijink we were about to get up to was safe instead of being excited. I can't imagine I'd feel much different, in her place. And past that, I can't quite remember what the boys thought... did they see her as part of the group, or just a friend, separate from it?

In any case, consider this a Ragatha appreciation post. Ragatha, you were an amazing friend, even (or maybe especially) if you weren't much like my other friends. You were always so sweet and caring, and always tried your best. You also made the best baked goods! My favorite mornings were the ones where Bubble let you into the kitchen and you made pancakes :). I miss the girls nights we had, even if those only really went on every couple of months... and even when it became just the two of us who could go to those.

I wish I'd reached out to you more back then, and I hope you knew that you meant something to me- I don't remember doing anything that would suggest contrary, but I also don't remember making it super obvious... in any case, you really did. I miss you, and I hope you're doing well out there!

I'm not sure if this is weird to say, but thank you to any and all Pomnis out there for not immediately giving up on Jax. Thanking you from the grave. 

He clearly really needed a friend after whatever went down when I died... It's scary seeing him with the light gone from his eyes, but it's comforting to know someone's still trying. I'm happy to see that he's not alone.

Apparently TADC episode 9 has been leaked. I have not seen the leak, but two people I know HAVE been spoiled. This is the time to start blocking TADC tags, please be careful and do not watch any clips that look like ep 6 as I have been told that is what the scene looks like. Please reblog this
