Motel 6 was not under a court order to give the personal information of it’s guests to ICE. There was no police warrant forcing their hand. They narced on undocumented immigrants—and probably others—of their own free will. The next time you consider staying at a Motel 6, remember that they willingly gave the personal information of paying customers, that was entrusted to them, to ICE. And if Motel 6 was sending private information to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, then you have to ask yourself: what are they sending to other agencies? Are they selling customer’s credit card info too? (source)

Motel 6 has released a statement promising not to continue spying on their paying customers anymore, but somehow I don’t believe them.
