eyes trained to the words imprinted on the book purchased in the bookstore across the street. a collection of anecdotes seemed to have captured subin’s attention. his classes ended earlier than he expected. his professor for his last class for today had already excused himself. without anything planned to do aside from finishing his scheduled lectures today, the male ended up in the mini-forest located near the local university. the display of greeneries with few blossoming flowers gave a sense of comfort. sitting by the bench under a big oak tree that filtered the harsh rays coming from the sun, he emitted out a breath.

for a moment he closed his eyes, leaning back to the trunk.

“you’re here again.”

his eyes fluttered open at your voice, a faint smile spreading on his brim. “it’s been a while.”

“i guess you can say that.” you reciprocated the smile before sitting next to him, a book of poetry settled on your lap. curious, you peered over the book he was reading. the pages tinted gold, side tattered. gaze returning to the male, you raised a brow. “you bought another book from that old bookstore?”

a nod was his only response. he fixated his focus back to the imprinted words once again.

“i see,” you muttered, doing the same.

once in a while, you’ll go to this side of the city. it was a surprise to find such a location in a forest of building and moving integrations. a spot opposite to the bustling community that served as home to you. the sight held such a close place to your heart.

for quite a while, you were alone. there were no complaints with that as the tranquility offered by such state was pleasing. however, months ago it changed when another guy of the same age as you supposed appeared on your favorite spot. on the wooden bench under the oak tree. you’d always see him every now and then.

words and greetings would be exchanged, but never did any name slipped out of the tongue.
